Montreal is a veritable paradise for gourmands as it has such a variety of great eateries and some of the best are to be found in its historical quarter. One of our personal favourites for fine dining, is the stunning XO restaurant housed in the luxurious St James hotel on the border of the historical quater of the city. Housed inside the formal Banker's Hall, the restaurant has a dining section, lounge and two beautiful mezzanines. A few alcoves await intimate conversations and the XO Le Lounge is the perfect spot for a predinner cocktail or a digestif. A tasting menu is available from Tuesday to Saturday and a bar menu is also available everyday.
A more casual, laid back atmosphere awaits at the Modavie which is a great little casual brasserie that often has live jazz entertainment. Even if you dont eat here, the round bar is a fun place to have a drink at (be sure to try one of the local beers if you are a beer drinker!). (1, rue St Paul - on corner of St Laurent. Ph:514 907 5878).
Baxo offers great cuisine in a casual atmosphere and tends to be very popular with the locals. The restuarant is located close to the Bonsecours building in the historical centre (343, rue St Paul East, Ph: 514 903 9343 ).

There are many optional activities to choose from in Montreal. Spend time wandering through the historical part of town, taking in all of the sights and smells along the way as you weave your way through the cobblestoned streets. Alternatively, head to St. Catherine's street, which has a dizzying array of shops to choose from and where you can see where the locals source their great sense of style. If you feel like a longer excursion, consider a day trip to Quebec - the oldest city in North America and a UNESCO designated city with a side trip to the impressive Montmorency falls. If you feel like staying within the city limits, consider a tour taking in the Olympic Tower, Biodrome, Botanical Gardens and Insectariums, a guided walking or a biking tour through the city, or a themed tour such as the Bourgeoisie area of Westmount or the lesser known parks and gardens of the city. Please let your Sales Advisor know if any of these options are of interest.
