Experience Anchorage by land and private helicopter plane before travelling on a private plane to St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Upon arrival at the lodge, you can set the pace of each day as you please. Experienced wilderness guides will help you discover the perfect activity to match your experience level and interests to create a unique adventure for you. One day, you may fly to explore an abandoned gold mine or perhaps kayak and fish for salmon in a glacial fed river. Alternatively you may choose to hike in pursuit of Dall sheep across a mountain ridge. Find yourself landing on the middle of the largest (non polar) glacier in the world, the Bagley Icefield, for an undisturbed view of the earth's most massive pile of rock and ice, Mt. Logan. Using small bush planes allows the flexibility to land practically anywhere which means that you can be flown up into a mountain valley or put down on a sandbar at the edge of the forest, and guided on a hike that literally no one has ever done before. What an experience!

Up Close Glaciers
Day 4: Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve
The Wrangell/St. Elias mountain ranges are a geological paradise – volcanos, glaciers, gold, copper – and the highest coastal mountain range on earth. Today you'll set out in a bush plane with a guide, and embark on a one of a kind experience.
“No human being has ever stood here,” says your guide.
You stand on the rocky peak of a mountain with no name. The sun is warm on your back. The glacier here is receding, and the stone beneath your feet has only been bare for a few days. Glacial runoff thunders down from the mountain in a massive waterfall. Vast clouds of vapor glitter in the sunlight. You watch as the glacier calves a huge, jagged shard of ice, and it drops down into the valley below.. crashing into the Chitina river. You’ll drink that tonight.
Behind you, the two-seater Piper Super Cub waits silently, its steel propellor glinting in the sun, its massive, rubbery bush-wheels perfectly suited for a landing at the top of the world.

Day 5: Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve
Share in the unique lifestyle of the adventure-centric family of pilots, guides and world traveled outdoors people who run the lodge. Discover the incredible attention to detail and human comforts at their home in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness.
Every day is unique. Perhaps today you'll be flown over the pinnace of Mount St. Elias, the largest vertical rock face on Earth. You'll dust Elias' snowy peak, then drive down over the glacier fields, breeze over grassy plains and glide out to the Pacific Ocean. Land on the beach and eat a gourmet picnic lunch set along in the back of the plane. Sit on an iceberg in the sun and watch huge chunks of glacier ice crash into waves.
No itineraries you have to chose from ahead of time here. No set schedule of events. This is adventuring as it's meant to be, in its puerest form, adhering to the laws of nature while respectfully marveling at her grandeur. Ebrace the remote beauty and unique flexibility this wilderness escape offers.
