Located on the upper banks of the Kenai River in Southcentral Alaska, Kenai Riverside Lodge is in the heart of some of Alaska's most beautiful scenery. It is two hours south of Anchorage in the scenic town of Cooper Landing, Alaska. Kenai Riverside Lodge is the original log lodge and cabins surrounded by snow-capped mountains and located on the banks of the upper Kenai River. The home base for many guided journeys, Kenai Riverside Lodge offers the perfect balance of unique accommodations, home-cooked meals and an array of activities to choose from.
The newly renovated Kenai Riverside Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy a fine meal and trade stories at the day's end. Eight guest cabins surround the main lodge, each exhibiting the rustic charm of an Alaskan pioneer cabin (as well as the modern comforts of heat, electricity and a private bath). Only a few paces away from your cabin door, you'll find the upper Kenai River rushing by the expansive deck. In addition to guided activities, enjoy hearty home cooking with a gourmet flair in the dining room and relax with a bottle of Alaska micro brew or a glass of wine in the lounge. After dinner, many guests gather on the spacious riverside deck to trade tales of the days' adventures or relax in the wood-fired sauna. As always, the staff strives to make your Alaska vacation the trip of a lifetime.
Each of the cabins exhibits the rustic charm of historical Alaskan pioneer cabins, only with the addition of a few modern day creature comforts like heat, electric lights, private bath and comfy beds. Adirondack chairs await you on your front porch to relax in while you take in the sounds of the Kenai River under the midnight sun. Staff have purposefully opted not to have TVs, phones or Internet connection in your cabins. You will, however, experience a strong connection to the natural world around you.
Each morning, you'll wake up to a hot breakfast buffet before heading out for a guided activity. You might walk in to the aroma of hot blueberry pancakes, bacon, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Your guide will meet you in the lodge for breakfast and soon you'll be gearing up for a great day of adventuring. Your made-to-order lunch will be prepared to take with you on your guided activity. In the evening you'll come home to a four-course meal, served family-style in the lodge. Share stories about the day over a glass of wine or Alaskan micro-brew beer.
Activities at the Lodge include rafting, hiking, fishing, and excellent wildlife viewing. There is also a large riverside deck to relax and view moose and bald eagles.
