The Chilkoot Trail Outpost (2*) offers all new extraordinary and comfortable hand-crafted cabins. The "Outpost" consists of eight individual cabins that will accommodate guests in ten private quarters. All cabins are equipped with microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. A hearty breakfast buffet in the main lodge is included with your stay.
Chilkoot Trail Outpost Cabins are located in the heart of the pristine Dyea Valley, just an 8.5 mile drive on a dirt road from Skagway and .5 mile from the head of the Chilkoot Trail. In this quiet and comfortable natural setting, the cabins afford guests a pleasant touch of luxury. 8 cabins including 2 duplex cabins for a total of 10 rooms, all with private bath, kitchenette with microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, satellite TV, and wireless internet access. The rooms are beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Each cabin features crafted quilts and log furnishings.
Cabins offer a separate bedroom, sitting room with a double futon and private bath. 2-Night package includes: 2 x deluxe buffet breakfasts, 1 x picnic BBQ surf & turf picnic basket (consists of marinated fresh sockeye salmon or halibut, choice of sirloin steak seasoned with Montreal pepper and garlic or a teriyaki chicken breast accompanied with potato, fresh cole slaw, dinner roll with butter, sour cream, tartar sauce, plate, napkin, fork & knife. Guests prepare BBQ dinner themselves but are given complete cooking instructions!), 1 choice of activity on day 2 (choices include: White Pass & Yukon Summit Excursion OR guided Chilkoot Trail hike – few mile hike followed by scenic raft ride down the gentle Taiya River.), and tickets to “The Days of '98 Show.” An early arrival on day 1 will allow time to catch the free interpretive guided ranger walk at the historic Dyea town site in the Klondike Nat'l Park as well as time to explore Slide cemetery and the Chilkoot Trail.
An enclosed hand-crafted gazebo equipped with a commercial BBQ, sink with hot and cold running water and seating is available to guests. Located between the gazebo and waterfall is our popular evening campfire pit which is a favorite activity of our guests. S'more ingredients and a guitar are always at hand for your enjoyment. The natural beauty of the "Outpost" offers hiking trails, picnic grounds, natural springs, a waterfall, BBQ gazebo, bicycles and much more!
