Talkeetna is a village in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, United States. Talkeetna is located at the confluence of three rivers, the Susitna, Chulitna and Talkeetna. The core downtown area is classified as a National Historic Site. Talkeetna's largest celebration of the winter, called Winterfest, takes place during the entire month of December, and features a motorized Parade of Lights, a lighted tree in the Village Park, and the Taste of Talkeetna.
As teams of dogs pant in anticipation and the brave mushers squeeze their sled reigns to begin their conquering journey through the frozen Alaskan wilderness, you’ll be at their side to witness the soaring mountains, hanging glaciers, crystalline rivers and vast aromatic forests that make up the most spectacular race course on the planet.
