The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead Hotel is the Rolls Royce of Atlanta hotels. Every inch of this hotel oozes luxury, from the lobby to the public areas, which are graced with Regency and Georgian antiques and an outstanding collection of 18th- and 19th-century artwork. The quality of service matches the sumptuous surroundings. The location is also excellent - on the fringe of lovely neighborhoods, across the street from two upscale shopping arcades, and close to Buckhead's fine restaurants and nightspots. Decorated with 18th and 19th- century antiques, the elegant Ritz-Carlton hotel is a regular stopover for visiting celebrities. The richly paneled lobby lounge is a quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city; afternoon tea and cocktails are also popular. The dining room is one of the city's finest restaurants, and many of the area's top chefs have passed through its kitchen doors. The spacious guest rooms are exquisitely decorated.
Get ready for a relatively early start this morning! Exact timing will be provided closer to the date.
Given the early departure this morning, a complimentary continental (easy to take on the go) breakfast will be provided which you can have at the Ritz Atlanta property or take with you on the transfer to Augusta.
Meet in the hotel lobby for a two hour coach transfer to Augusta. To ensure a speedy (and memorable) arrival, a police escort will accompany the coach and guide us through the traffic in Augusta.
Line ups in and out of Augusta during the tournament can be lengthy to say the least so we have added in a little extra special something for your comfort. Try and keep your smile discrete as you watch a parting of the "waters" as cars jostle to move to the side of the highway as you approach Augusta and on your exit from the town at the end of the day as a police escort leads you in and out of town. Of course the main advantage of this means that you can save 45 minutes to an hour by avoiding being stuck in traffic jams at both ends of your day.
As an early booking bonus (for any bookings made by June 30th, 2013), you will receive a complimentary directors style chair as a souvenir that you can use to stake out your preferred spot and keep after the event as a souvenir.
You will be dropped off at a classic southern-style mansion just around the corner from the main gates of the golf course in Augusta for a brief orientation. Spend the rest of the day following your favorite world-class golfers across the pristine contours of the emerald course as they pursue the hallowed green jacket. Whether you choose to walk the course and follow your player of choice, set yourself up strategically at a particular spot, or brave the crowds around the 18th to watch the final putt, we guarantee that it will be the experience of a lifetime.
At the end of the day, make your way back to the reception facility to escape the crowds and enjoy a bounty of food and refreshments at a constantly changing buffet. The plentiful array of fresh seafood, grilled meats, sandwiches on home-baked breads, local cheeses and an ongoing open bar is sure to satisfy even the most enthusiastic appetite. All beverages and meals are included in the cost.
After an exciting day at the tournament, relax in the comfort of a luxury coach on the drive to the Ritz Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro. The drive should take approximately 1.5hours.
Your luggage will be waiting for you in your room upon arrival and looked after on your departure.
As an early booking bonus (for all bookings made by June 30, 2013) you will enjoy complimentary Internet at Ritz Reynolds Plantation.
Take advantage of a complimentary welcome amenity upon your arrival at the Ritz Reynolds Plantation.(for all bookings made by June 30, 2013).
Just 75 minutes east of Atlanta International Airport on Georgia's Lake Oconee, the stunning Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation draws on local history and culture as the foundation of the guest experience. Set against the shimmering blue backdrop of Lake Oconee, the Lodge offers luxurious accommodations and 81 holes of golf along the pristine coast. The 26,000 square foot spa, recently ranked one of the top 5 spas in North America by Travel + Leisure magazine, rejuvenates guests with southern-inspired service and treatments, and the lake itself offers many exceptional activities and diversions. The hotel has also won prestigious awards such as the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Poll Top Spas, ranked #10 in United States, Canada, Mexico & Caribbean, 2012, Conde Nast Traveler Gold List, 2011 and Travel + Leisure World’s Best List, 2011.
Sleep in this morning and then spend a leisurely few hours enjoying the luxurious amenities around the Plantation, from an extensive network of biking and walking trails to kayaking along the shores of Lake Oconee. Alternatively, you can choose to unwind in the hotel spa with a Spring Body Polish (a soothing exfoliation treatment that blends Blessed Thistle and Peru Balsam to balance and restore skin) or squeeze in an early round of golf at one of the award-winning courses on site.
This afternoon you'll have the pleasure of playing a round of golf at the Great Waters course. When the Jack Nicklaus-designed Great Waters Course opened at Reynolds Plantation in 1992, it stirred a rush of excitement within the golf community that was extraordinary, even by Nicklaus' standards. A 7,073-yard, par-72 layout, this gorgeous course (voted No. 5 "Top 10 Nicklaus Courses You Can Play" by Golf Magazine and among "America's Best Residential Golf Courses" by GolfWeek Magazine) offers players some of the most dramatic golf scenery in the Southeast, with nine holes coming into play along the shores of Lake Oconee.
Great Waters, along with The Landing at Reynolds Plantation, played host to the 41st PGA Professional National Championship, the showcase event for PGA Professionals, on June 19-22, 2008. The prestigious Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf was also played at Great Waters from 1995 to 1997. The tournament is now known as the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship.
Transportation within Ritz Reynolds Estate to and from the Great Waters Golf course and the hotel will be provided.
Meet the group for an early morning shot gun start at The Oconee course today. Just a short walk from the lobby at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, this Rees Jones course is quickly becoming a favourite of guests at the Reynolds Plantation. Rees Jones, well known for designing some of the world's most celebrated golf courses, added The Oconee course at Reynolds Plantation to his growing collection of outstanding golf courses in 2002.
Described by many as a mind-game golf, the new Jones addition to the Reynolds Plantation landscape is designed to be a true risk/reward challenge — often forcing golfers to choose between direct tee shots over inlets of Lake Oconee and long drives down tree-lined dog-leg fairways. Noted for its spectacular par threes — featuring multiple tee boxes, drop shots from elevated tees and numerous water hazards — the course offers five holes in which Lake Oconee comes directly into play and four others tendering magnificent lake views. Though the interior creeks and ponds and the expansive vistas of Lake Oconee provide spectacular scenery for Oconee Course golfers, they also ensure an unrivaled challenge for players of all experience levels.
This dramatic, challenging and playable layout has captured the attention of the golfing industry, hosting highly-visible tournaments like the 2007 PGA Cup and the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl Alma Mater. Awards include "America's Top Golf Courses" (Zagat Survey, 2007), "Best Residential Golf Courses" (GolfWeek Magazine, 2007), "100 Best Golf Shops in America" (GolfWorld Business Magazine, 2006) and "Best Courses for Women" (Golf For Women Magazine, 2006).
Bid farewell to the home of one of the best golf tournaments in the world as you board the coach for a transfer to the Atlanta Airport. The transfer should take approximately 1.5hrs.
