Augusta Golf Tournament 2014 (Ritz: Sunday)

Get ready for a relatively early start this morning! Exact timing will be provided closer to the date.

Given the early departure this morning, a complimentary continental (easy to take on the go) breakfast will be provided which you can have at the Ritz Atlanta property or take with you on the transfer to Augusta.

Meet in the hotel lobby for a two hour coach transfer to Augusta. To ensure a speedy (and memorable) arrival, a police escort will accompany the coach and guide us through the traffic in Augusta.

Line ups in and out of Augusta during the tournament can be lengthy to say the least so we have added in a little extra special something for your comfort. Try and keep your smile discrete as you watch a parting of the "waters" as cars jostle to move to the side of the highway as you approach Augusta and on your exit from the town at the end of the day as a police escort leads you in and out of town. Of course the main advantage of this means that you can save 45 minutes to an hour by avoiding being stuck in traffic jams at both ends of your day.

At the end of the day, make your way back to the reception facility to escape the crowds and enjoy a bounty of food and refreshments at a constantly changing buffet. The plentiful array of fresh seafood, grilled meats, sandwiches on home-baked breads, local cheeses and an ongoing open bar is sure to satisfy even the most enthusiastic appetite. This afternoon you'll have the pleasure of playing a round of golf at the Great Waters course. A 7,073-yard, par-72 layout, this gorgeous course (voted No. 5 "Top 10 Nicklaus Courses You Can Play" by Golf Magazine and among "America's Best Residential Golf Courses" by GolfWeek Magazine) offers players some of the most dramatic golf scenery in the Southeast, with nine holes coming into play along the shores of Lake Oconee.

Great Waters, along with The Landing at Reynolds Plantation, played host to the 41st PGA Professional National Championship, the showcase event for PGA Professionals, on June 19-22, 2008. The prestigious Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf was also played at Great Waters from 1995 to 1997. The tournament is now known as the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship.

Just a short walk from the lobby at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, this Rees Jones course is quickly becoming a favourite of guests at the Reynolds Plantation. Rees Jones, well known for designing some of the world's most celebrated golf courses, added The Oconee course at Reynolds Plantation to his growing collection of outstanding golf courses in 2002.

Described by many as a mind-game golf, the new Jones addition to the Reynolds Plantation landscape is designed to be a true risk/reward challenge — often forcing golfers to choose between direct tee shots over inlets of Lake Oconee and long drives down tree-lined dog-leg fairways. Noted for its spectacular par threes — featuring multiple tee boxes, drop shots from elevated tees and numerous water hazards — the course offers five holes in which Lake Oconee comes directly into play and four others tendering magnificent lake views. Though the interior creeks and ponds and the expansive vistas of Lake Oconee provide spectacular scenery for Oconee Course golfers, they also ensure an unrivaled challenge for players of all experience levels.
