Aguas Arriba Lodge

Aguas Arriba Lodge is located at the Estancia Río de las Vueltas, 37 km away from El Chaltén; with 900 meters of shore along Lago del Desierto, and 700 acres of mountain ranged forests. Its construction was a true odyssey due to its remote location. Hand built out of natural wood and noble stones, its ample window sills portray the beauty of its natural surroundings: an emerald green lake, hanging glaciers, forests’, and spectacular views of The Fitz Roy. Its eco-friendly construction assures to preserve nature in its pristine state. Accessing the lodge is either by boat or by foot. It is a 15 minute boat ride from the south point of the lake along its eastern margin, or a 2-3 hr hike. The trail guides you into the heart of the forest, home to centenarian trees of the Nothofagus family (Lenga, Ñire and Coihue trees). A unique experience; indulge the senses with nature, fine gourmet, and adventure!

Glacier Rooms (Premium rooms) offer a warm, comfortable, cozy and quiet place to stay. All rooms have king size beds and different pillow options, heat radiators and organic amenities. Five of the seven rooms have private bathrooms. Includes: Boat transfer from/to Lago del Desierto - South Point (15 minute boat ride along the East shore of the lake), Accommodation with full board (breakfast, lunch/picnic, dinner). Soft beverages. Coffee & tea offered all day. Daily activities programmed by Aguas Arriba Lodge.

A dream place for the fly fisherman who wants to be left on an isolated shore ready for the challenging trout. The lake is 12 km long and is surrounded by natural forest all the way to the edge of the water. It offers a variety of beaches and wide bays for long and short casting.

When the weather permits, the deck is the perfect place to contemplate the colors of the sunset, the full moon reflected in the lake or the dark new moon sky full with stars. There is a second deck in the back of the house facing the forest, a perfect place to enjoy some mates and the home made pastry. The living room with its 30 ft ceiling and huge window wall allows the incredible view to come into the house. And the big chimney invites you to stay around and enjoy the cozy and warm atmosphere.
