Be there as Brazil hosts the World Cup in 2014! With matches running from June 12 - July 13th, the country will be buzzing with excitement. Attend the matches that are of particular personal interest interspersed with some cultural tours and activities as you base yourself out of Rio de Janeiro. We are offering accommodation packages during the World Cup in partnership with specific hotels (3, 4 and 5* options) based out of Rio de Janeiro which are arranged in "waves" throughout the month of the tournament as follows; June 12 - 17 inclusive (6 nights), June 18 - 23 inclusive (6 nights), June 24 - 29 inclusive (6 nights), June 30 - July 5 inclusive (6 nights), June 12 to June 20 inclusive (9 nights), June 21 to 29 inclusive (9 nights), July 6 to July 9 inclusive (4 nights) and July 10 to July 13 inclusive (4 nights).
Matches are held in 11 different cities throughout Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Natal, Salvador, Cuiaba, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Fortaleza, Manaus, Brasilia and Porto Alefre) and matches outside of Rio include return airfare and transportation from Rio de Janeiro.
A valid passport is required for all American or Canadian citizens, including children, intending to visit Brazil. It is recommended that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your expected departure from the country. There have been cases where citizens were refused entry for not having the six-month validity. In addition, all Americans & Canadians are required to have a valid Brazilian Visa prior to their arrival in Brazil, and the visa must be used within 90 days of issuance. Otherwise, they will be refused entry into the country.
You will receive a welcome pack upon arrival at your hotel today including official merchandise and ticket lanyards as well as all relevant information pertaining to the World Cup portion of your trip.

Known for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba, beaches, Rio de Janeiro is a perfect destination for relaxation and entertainment.
From June 12 - 18 there will be on site Assistance available to you in Rio.
Today take the time to enjoy the city of Rio de Janeiro by maybe spending time at the beach, sipping on fruit juices or walking along its streets.
There are also plenty of options for half and full day tours in and around Rio de Janeiro. Consider tours focusing on the modern and historical aspects of the city, the botanical gardens or a visit to one of the biggest slums in the world with approximately 150.000 inhabitants.
If you prefer to be outdoors, enjoy a half day zodiac boat ride of the Guanabara Bay to Cagarras Archipel passing in front of all the famous beaches like Botafogo where Sugar Loaf, Copacabana and Ipanema are located. A day spent cruising on the Azure waters is another option. For a more cultural experience, consider a guided tour of Petrópolis, located on the mountains of the Atlantic Mountain Range where you can visit the Imperial Museum, residence of the Imperator D. Pedro II. Additionaly, you can visit the Cathedral, and the Christal Palace. All of these options are available on a private basis, and some are offered on a shared basis. Consider a tour to Corcovado, a trip up Sugarloaf Mountain, a visit to the botanical gardens or a tandem hanggliding experience off one of the nearby mountains.
You will be transfered from your hotel to the stadium in Rio today (shared transportation).
Time permitting, you'll get to enjoy a sightseeing tour taking in some of the highlights of Rio de Janeiro. Should time not allow, you will be transfered directly to the stadium.
The Estadio Do Maracana is one of the largest stadiums in the world, which has in the past brought in crowds of over 200,000 fans. The stadium will see some refurbishment in preparation for 2014, including improved visibility and replacement to all of the seats for its actual holding capacity of 76,935 fans. However, the stadium’s layout and famous façade will remain relatively untouched.
Take in the F1 playing against F2 team this evening in Rio de Janeiro. Kick off is scheduled for 7pm.
After the excitement of the match, you'll be transfered back to your hotel in Rio. (shared transportation).
Consider a walk along Avenida Atlantica, soaking up some rays at Copacabana Beach, or sipping a cool drink in Ipanema.
