Pousada do Ouro is a small boutique hotel in the charming colonial town of Paraty, Rio de Janeiro. The hotel itself is located in a historic building, a colonial mansion from the 18th century, which gives it a unique appeal and atmosphere. Behind the whitewashed 18th-century façade, interiors are simple and stylish, with bold colours creating a lively tone against the fresh white walls and linens. Guests can spend their days laying out on the beautiful beaches in the area, walking around the hisotric colonial old town, dining out at restaurants or bar. Although the building is old, the hotel has all of the modern amenities guests can enjoy in the present day. There is a swimming pool, where guests can take a refreshing dip or a sauna where they can sit back and relax while enjoying the hot, therapeutic coals. So welcoming & stylish is this chic pousada that the likes of Mick Jagger and various important writers and photographers arriving for the town's literature and photography festivals have been among the celebrities to stay, though it still maintains an atmosphere of privacy & tranquillity.
