Lago del Toro is a lake located in the Magallanes Region in southern Chile. Also known as Lago del Toro or Lago Toro, its etymology comes from the lake's ability to generate 4 m swells due to a long (30 km) fetch and high winds aligned with the long axis of the lake. Locals say that the lake and the nearby mountain Sierra del Toro is named thus because the lake 'is angry a lot' ("porque se enoja mucho!"). Services on the lake include camping and fishing.

Designed for those who want to get away from it all, hike in pristine nature, but who don't want to rough it. On the shores of Lago Toro, at the edge of Torres del Paine National Park, each of the 18 yurts at Patagonia Camp is heated, has en suite bath, a private terrace, and offers spectacular views. All meals are included, and there's a full range of full and half day programs to keep you busy. When it's time to relax, enjoy the view of the mountains from the comfort of the lounge, perhaps with a glass of Chilean red in hand.
