The Hotel Santa Lucia has been passed along by the hands of generations of Cuenca natives. Located right next to the main plaza, it originally belonged to the first governor of this old city, which has stubbornly retained its grasp on Ecuadorian traditions and values. The colonial-style boutique home is filled with charming touches, with deep and vibrant colors to set the tone of a royal mansion. The hotel restaurants are highly commended, as they have made their mark on Ecuadorian and Italian cuisine in the region. One may walk the cobblestone streets of this city and get to know its every nook and cranny. Spend some time in the courtyard, or in the hallways and beautifully decorated common rooms of the Santa Lucia, where one may lounge in tranquility or interact with other guests.
