Pikaia Lodge is a new concept in luxury land-based eco-adventure in the Galapagos Islands, offering the highest levels of comfort and a once in a lifetime experience. The design of Pikaia has been overseen by Swiss hospitality experts, to provide world-class service to the discerning traveler. The main building will be perched on a small plateau on top of two extinct volcanic craters and the rooms and villas will nestle amongst the slopes. This location offers one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Galapagos – a great scenic destination in itself. From all public areas and rooms, guests will enjoy expansive views of the pristine arid savanna of the adjacent Galapagos National Park. To the north, you will see extinct volcanic cones shrouded in mist and mountains covered with lush tropical cloud forests; to the south-west, you will find green pasture farms that extend as far as they eye can see. From the vantage point of the Pikaia Lodge, the 270-degree view will instill a sense of each nearby island being no larger than a teardrop in the infinite Pacific Ocean.
Pikaia Lodge – The Galapagos, will be the first 5-star lodge in Ecuador to be designed, built and operated according to the highest LEED specifications, and is part of a larger project that aims to build a total of three such lodges. The Galapagos and its surrounding marine reserve, part of the Republic of Ecuador, is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site. The marine reserve is one of the seven underwater wonders of the world and the second largest protected marine reserve, after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. All spacious rooms and suites have panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows and private shaded terraces with breathtaking unobstructed views over the green-tinged volcanic landscape of Santa Cruz to the blue Pacific Ocean.
