Begin the tour as you arrive in the nation’s capital Montevideo - home to nearly 50% of the nation's population, Montevideo is a modern metropolis with a historical old town dating back to colonial times. Surrounding the whole city lays an uninterrupted stretch of white sandy beach. Enjoy a half day city tour of the Old City with its 18th century buildings, as well as a visit to the beaches. The next day take a private transfer to Punta del Este, the much loved and sought after vacation town nestled on a beautiful peninsula located in the southeast corner of Uruguay. Only one hour by car from Montevideo, people come from all over to enjoy Punta del Este’s natural beauty and its vibrant nightlife. Day 2: Montevideo - Punta Del Este
This full day tour starts early in the morning! On your way to Punta del Este, visit Piriápolis, enjoy the "Argentineans' Rambla and then climb the San Antonio Hill from where you will have a wonderful view of the city. Continue to Punta del Este, visiting Punta Ballena and the pictoresque "Casapueblo" built by the famous Uruguayan artist, Carlos Páez Vilaró. Upon reaching Punta del Este, you will visit the residential neighborhoods such as "Beverly Hills", "San Rafael", "Cantegril Golf" and the strange bridge of "La Barra" in Maldonado, a very picturesque fancy town. You will then visit the "Mansa" and "Brava" Beaches and then visit the "Peninsula" with time enough to walk along the main avenue, Gorlero, where you can have lunch (not included) in the Port in front of the sea. After lunch you will be returned back to Montevideo .

VISA/PASSPORT
US and Canadian citizens entering Uruguay for business or pleasure must have a valid passport. A visa is not required for a visit of less than three months. Air travelers are required to pay an airport tax upon departure. This fee may be paid in U.S. dollars or in Uruguayan pesos. HEALTH
Health insurance is required. Medical facilities are poor quality and not widespread. We recommend that you see a health-care provider who specializes in Travel Medicine. The doctor or health-care provider will determine what vaccinations and medication you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities. - Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $350). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
