This island haven is one the largest national parks in the Caribbean, expansive white sand beaches, warm azure waters and an abundance of marine flora and fauna await you! The Orinoco Delta is a vast, intricate labyrinth of waterways weaving through a simmering jungle to carry the waters of the Orinoco to the Atlantic Ocean. Needless to say, the wildlife of the delta is also extremely rich and varied. Jaguar, puma, ocelot, red howler and capuchin monkeys, capybara, agouti, giant otter, manatee and dolphins are just a handful of the countless species of mammal that can be observed in their natural habitats! Finish up this adventure with a visit to one of the world's highest waterfalls, Angel Falls with a spectacular height of 979m and a drop of 807m. Day 2: Caracas - Los Roques
Airport transfer with private vehicle, and driver.
Fly from Carcas to Gran Roque, Los Roques. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes.
Upon arrival to Gran Roque airport you will be required to pay the Los Roques National Park Entrance Fee. Please note that due to regulations this fee cannot be pre-paid and has to be paid locally in Venezuela Bolivar OR USD Cash. The current price is $35USD Per Person however this is regulated by the Venezuelan government and subject to change without notice at anytime.
Natura Viva Posada is located within walking distance to the airport. Therefore you will be responsible for carrying your luggage from the airport to the hotel and return. A hotel reprentative will assist you.
Accommodation: Natura Viva Posada (4*) Natura Viva overlooks the sea and is composed of 16 rooms, including three doubles and a single bed with loft, 12 double rooms and one junior suite with private terrace and direct beach access. All rooms have bathroom, shower, hot and cold water, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, mini fridge and safe.
Day 3: Los Roques
During your stay please enjoy the following inclusions; breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Enjoy a day at the beach on a secluded island. A boat driver will drop you off at a secluded beach, and will pick you up at a pre-arranged time.

Day 4: Los Roques - Caracas - Puerto Ordaz - Orinoco Delta
Natura Viva Posada is located within walking distance to the airport. Therefore you will be responsible for carrying your luggage from the airport to the hotel and return. A hotel reprentative will assist you.
Board the short commercial flight from Loq Roques to Caracas. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes.
Fly from Caracas to Puerto Ordaz. Flight time is approximately 1 hr.
Transfer by private vehicle with driver.
Upon arrival to Boca de Uracoa our boats will be waiting at a prearranged time to ferry you to the Orinoco Delta Lodge. After lunch we will journey by boat through small rivers to observe the flora and fauna, the fresh water dolphins and a spectacular Delta sunset. We return to camp at 18:30pm and enjoy dinner at 20:00pm. You will be sleeping in comfortable cabins with private bathrooms.
Accommodation: Orinoco Delta Lodge The camp (Orinoco Delta Lodge) grew from a couple of Warao Indian style houses, one for eating and one for sleeping with shared bathrooms to an attractive complex of 37 individual comfortable cabins with beds, a private bathroom and a huge dining bar and lounge area overlooking the river. The Orinoco Delta Lodge has been operating since 1992.The lodge is strategically situated for circuits between the 3 locations, sports fishing specially Tarpon, and a fantastic stop for sailing boats. Location: On Caño Guamal, 2 hours by boat from the town of Tucupita.
Jaguar - Orinoco Delta Lodge
Day 5: Orinoco Delta
In the morning you will wake to the sounds of the jungle and then breakfast will be served at 8:00am. After breakfast we will travel through the remote Guenamorena region of the Delta before journeying on to our rustic Jakara Camp. Here we board canoes and follow a small river that allows us to venture deep into the jungle.
Your Indian guide will locate an excellent spot for a perfect jungle walk and for those of you who have never been in the jungle before the experience is truly unforgettable. The silence of the jungle is occasionally interrupted by the strange cries of exotic birds while the pungent smells blend into the blanket of humidity. There are dense galleries of crawling plants and giant trees competing for rations of scarce sun light under the lush jungle canopy.
After returning to camp for lunch we will visit the Warao Indians and take a rewarding glimpse into their way of life while discover many more smaller rivers systems and extensive vegetation. We will return to the Orinoco Delta Lodge at 18:30pm and dinner will be served at 20:00pm.

Day 6: Orinoco Delta - Boca de Uracoa - Puerto Ordaz
After a hearty breakfast your guide will take you by boat to an area in the Delta that is perfect for fishing. You will be given poles, bait your hooks with raw meat and fish for the infamous Piranhas. If you are successful you can bring your catch back to the lodge where our chef will prepare them into a delicious snack. Lunch will be served and then we take you back to your port of entry where you can return to the real world.
Transfer by private vehicle and driver to Puerto Ordaz.
Accommodation: Venetur Orinoco (5*) Hotel Venetur Orinoco is located in an enviable spot overlooking Llovizna Falls, surrounded by two pristine parks, the hotel is minutes from the city's shopping and business districts and features 190 rooms with air conditioning. Loefling Wildlife Park and the Carona Ecomuseum are also nearby. It is also within walking distance of Park Ecomuseum Loefling and Caroni. Additional amenities include a casino, multilingual staff, and gift shops/newsstands.
Day 7: Puerto Ordaz
We board our boat, and navigate towards the Castillos de Guayana, two old forts located on a hilly bank of the Orinoco, overlooking the river. They were built to protect Santo Tomás, the first Spanish settlement founded on the riverbank. The older fort, the Castillo de San Francisco, dates from the 1670s. As pirate raids continued unabated, a second fort, the Castillo de San Diego de Alcalá, was built in 1747 on a nearby higher hill. At the end of 19th century, the forts were used to control river traffic. We continue to the "Meeting of the Waters", where the blackwater river Caroní meets the whitewater Orinoco River. We can admire the beautiful La Llovizna and Cachamay Falls, before returning to the dock. Duration: 5 hours.

Fly from Puerto Ordaz to Canaima. Flight time is approxiamtely 1 hour.

The camp is located a few minutes from the Airport of Canaima, right in front of the Canaima Lagoon and with a spectacular view of the water falls “El Hacha” and “Golondrina”. Rooms contain private bathrooms, hot water, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Direct TV is available in the lobby. The hotel also contains a restaurant which offers samples of delicious local flavours.
Angel Falls
Day 9: Canaima
Departure from Canaima airstrip, and flight over the spectacular landscape of Canaima National Park. After approximately 20 minutes we enter the impressive Devil's Canyon, and soon we see the highest waterfall on earth: Angel Falls. We then land at the airstrip of the small Indian village of Kavac, nestled in the valley of Kamarata, under the sheer walls of the impressive table-top mountain Auyantepuy. We set off on a pleasant walk, across grassy savannah and through thick rainforest, until arriving at the "Enchanted Valley", one of the narrowest canyons in the world. Over millions of years a small river has carved a cavernous gorge where the sun hardly reaches the bottom. Guided by local Indians, we will wade and swim through the canyon to the hidden waterfall of Kavac. A small dugout canoe will assist non-swimmers. Lunch at Kavac village, and return flight to Canaima.

Day 10: Canaima - Caracas
Enjoy a shared transfer between the Canaima airstrip and your lodge (or vice versa).
Fly from Canaima to Caracas, please note there will be one stop in Puerto Ordaz, you may be required to change planes. Flight time is approximately 2.5 hr.

We will discover Caracas' colonial roots, proudly displayed in its historic center. We will visit the Birthplace of Simón Bolívar "El Libertador", with its typically discreet and austere colonial architecture; the Concejo Municipal, where the Act of Venezuelan Independence was signed; La Casa Amarilla, the former Royal Prison and now the Foreign Office; El Capitolio, where two notable historical records can be found: the Act of Independence and the epic mural by Tovar y Tovar representing the battle of Carabobo; Plaza Bolívar, where the history of Caracas began. We continue to the Panteón Nacional, the most sacred building in the city. It is the last resting place for eminent Venezuelans. The vault of the pantheon is covered by paintings depicting scenes from Bolívar's life, all done by the important Venezuelan historical painter Tito Salas in the 1930s. We then continue to the colonial museum Quinta Anauco, built in 1797, laid out around a charming patio and surrounded by gardens. A long and illustrious line of marquises lived here until the death in 1837 of the last Marquis del Toro. This charming country house also welcomed Bolívar on his last visit to Caracas. Return to hotel or drop-off at a typical restaurant or one of Caracas' modern shopping malls.

VISA/PASSPORT
A valid passport and a visa or tourist card are required for both US and Canadian citizens. Tourist cards are issued on flights from the U.S. to Venezuela for persons staying less than ninety days. Persons traveling for reasons other than tourism, however, should consult the Venezuelan Embassy or nearest Venezuelan consulate regarding possible visa requirements for their specific purpose of travel. Venezuelan immigration authorities may require that U.S. passports have at least six months validity remaining from the date of arrival in Venezuela. Some U.S. citizens have been turned back to the United States because their passports were to expire in less than six months.
Please note obtaining a visa is your responsibility. These requirements change often and therefore it is best that you check with the Embassy of Venezuela for the most up to date visa information.

Health insurance is required. Medical facilities are poor quality and not widespread. We recommend that you see a health-care provider who specializes in Travel Medicine. The doctor or health-care provider will determine what vaccinations and medication you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities. - Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $350). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
