Chill out on the beach or fly through the treetops in Nosara
Whether they're looking to lay on a tropical beach, go on a safari for Central American wildlife or take on an active adventure, travelers on Costa Rica tours can find what they want in the area around Nosara.
Located along the Pacific coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, the area takes its name from the town of Nosara, home of the luxurious L'Acqua Viva Hotel and Spa. The hotel is decorated in "Bali style," with airy, light wood walls. Visitors looking for a more budget-friendly Nosara experience can chow down at the Beach Dog Cafe.
Close to the town, the white and gray sand beaches are among Costa Rica's most spectacular. Playa Pelada stands out for its blowhole, which shoots water into the air at high tide.
Just steps from the beaches, the area's forest is home to monkeys, armadillos, boa constrictors and innumerable bird species. Those who want to get up close and personal with parrots and toucans can take the world's longest zip line canopy tour. About 36,000 feet of zip line will whisk travelers through the canopy until they arrive at a mountainside disco.
In addition to dancing at the bar, there are many ways to keep the adrenaline pumping after a canopy tour, including surfing, kayaking and horseback riding.
