EGYPT AND MIDDLE EAST TOURS

Caesarea National Park is one of the Israel's finest archaeology sites. Wash onto the shores of ancient Caesarea

Originally built as a port to rival the great Alexandria, this ancient city developed by Herod the Great still encompasses many impressive relics and structures, and is a pleasant escape from modernity for Israel tours.

Featuring more buildings than most visitors are used to seeing in a national park, Caesarea’s namesake park is one of the area’s most important archaeological sites. Exploring the remains of a Crusader city, a citadel and an ancient harbor, visitors can spend hours exploring the park. With many tiles, statues and columns found throughout the rubble, the large remaining structures paint a vivid picture of the area’s past.

One of the more unique offerings is a retrofitted ruin that is now a music locale. Offering phenomenal acoustics, visitors lucky enough to catch a concert at the city’s Roman amphitheatre can have modern-day entertainment at one of the world’s oldest venues.

While its relics may be old, Caesarea’s plentiful waterfront cafes, shops and restaurants offer the best of modern-day service, and provide a great place to relax and take in the sights.
