Encounter polar bears in the northern reaches of Canada

During a tour of Canada, travelers can experience the wild side of the North when they go on an excursion to see the world-famous polar bear in Nunavut.

The territory of Nunavut features one of the world's largest populations of polar bears, and tourists can see the magnificent white creatures all the way from the Arctic coast down to the southern reaches of Hudson Bay. The bears travel along coastlines and have also been known to live as far as 90 miles inland.

Tourists who go on a polar bear excursion in the fall may witness the powerful animals hunting seals, while those who visit in the spring may be able to spot mother bears teaching their cubs to look for food.

"A private tour is a great way to see these magnificent creatures," said David Smith, a senior sales consultant for North America, Latin America and the Caribbean at Kensington Tours. "These trips give tourists the flexibility they need to travel where bears are seen most frequently, while experienced guides help them stay safe."
