The land of Provence has captured many a travellers heart throughout time.  From the sloping vineyards, to the hilltop villages and coastal towns, it is a land of plenty.  Some of the best local markets are to be found in this region due to the great produce that is grown and the many vineyards produce a wide variety of wines from simple table wines to more sophisticated complex wines. The borders of Provence are defined by nature; to the north, where olive trees are in abundance, to the south, the Mediterranean; to the east, the foothills of the Alps and to the west, the Rhone.
