Set sail on the historic Yangtze River, the longest river in Asia, as you cruise through thousands of years of China's history, culture, and economy. The Yangtze is the lifeblood of the People's Republic of China, its basin being home to one third of the country's 1.3 billion citizens. The scenery while passing through the UNESCO World Heritage front runner "Three Gorges Scenic Site" is breathtaking.
Yangtze River cruises are generally downstream from Chongqing to Yichang (3 nights), or upstream from Yichang to Chongqing (4 nights). There are typically 3-4 shore excursions on a cruise, which vary between different ships. Ironically, the shorter 4 day downstream cruise is more expensive than the longer 5 day upstream cruise due to higher demand.
