Listvyanka

Listvianka on Lake Baikal

The village of Listvyanka is located in the South-West of Baikal Lake and dates back to 1701 when it became one of the first settlements of Russian people on the shores of Baikal. Today the majority of the population is involved in tourism due to the construction of the Tran-Siberian Railroad. Visitors can catch glimpses of the hazy views of the Khamar Daban mountains on the opposite shore of the lake, and enjoy some attractions and activities including Lake cruising. The village has a great deal to offer for the more adventurous and active visitor, including hiking the Great Baikal Trail, jet-skiing in the summer and ice mountain biking and ice sculpting in the winter.
