Enjoy a private transfer between your hotel and Cape Town airport.

Epitomizing stylish living, quality service and ambient tranquility, guest comfort is all but assured at this gem in the harbor.

Day 2: Cape Town

Beat the crowds and start the day early with your private guide by visiting Cape Town’s most iconic landmark, Table Mountain. One of the most spectacularly bio-diverse places on Earth, an estimated 1,500 unique species of plant-life are found on Table Mountain alone, many of which are endemic and found nowhere else on the planet. Ascend by cable car as the mist from the clouds open up to the main plateau while striking views of Cape Town come into crystal-clear focus. Now with a better understanding of the city’s layout, walk past Cape Town’s storied past as your guide recounts the colorful histories of the Houses of Parliament, the Castle of Good Hope (South Africa’s oldest building) and the well-tended Company Gardens. Bargain your way through the lively Greenmarket Square in search of souvenir while meeting local artisans along the way. As you enter another one of Cape Town’s famed stop at Bo-Kaap, learn how the Cape Malay community, with its cobbled streets and brightly colored houses became one of city’ most vibrant neighborhoods. There’s no better way of understanding local history than through your Capetonian guide. From here you have the choice of being dropped off at the V&A Waterfront to experience this landmark at your own pace, with its many shops, restaurants and pubs - or at your hotel to end the tour. Should you choose to visit the waterfront, please speak to your Destination Expert for a range of recommendations for lunch.

Day 3: Cape Town

After meeting your expert local guide in Cape Town, begin the day with a visit to one of the more popular leisure hubs for locals – the glorious beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, where impressive white sand beaches hug the shoreline with the Twelve Apostles as a stunning backdrop. Learn about the fascinating history of this breathtaking land from your Capetonian guide as you begin the spectacular sea-side drive to the quaint village of Hout Bay. After a stop in the village, you will track along the extraordinary Chapman’s Peak Drive, known as one of the most picturesque roadways world-wide. With the flexibility to spend as little or as long as you would like in this region crammed with incredible panoramic lookouts, the benefits of having a private vehicle and guide truly come into play. Further along you will reach the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where, at Cape Point, you will board a funicular or walk up the stairway that leads to the Cape Point Lighthouse; it is here that you will observe the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans while enjoying fantastic views of False Bay. Departing from Cape Point, head northward to Simon’s Town to enjoy lunch (included). Although the city is host to a number of tasty dining options, consider indulging in fresh-caught fish & chips, the town’s specialty. After a refreshing lunch and a bit of time to learn about Simon’s Town, set off with your camera ready to visit Boulders Beach, a nearby nature preserve that is home to a colony of African penguins. Wrapping up your day’s adventure, tour the idyllic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a sprawling park brimming with rare and exotic plant-life that is surely one the finest examples of botany the world over, before being returned to your hotel.

Day 4: Cape Town - Skukuza - Kruger

Enjoy a private transfer between your hotel and Cape Town airport.

Board a flight in Cape Town with direct service to Skukuza Airport. Approximate flight time is two hours and 30 minutes.

Please note, luggage restrictions apply to this regional flight: 1) Maximum of one checked bag, weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg); Checked baggage cannot be larger than 62 linear inches (158cm). 2) Guests can also bring one piece of carry-on luggage with a maximum weight of 17 lbs (8 kg). Guests may also bring one slimline laptop bag.

Transfer from  Skukuza Airport to Rhino Post in the indomitable Kruger. Approximate travel time is 30 minutes.

Having had the chance to settle into your lodging - and to prepare for an adventure - meet with other guests of the camp to set out on your first authentic game drive. Sunrise and sunset are when animals are most active, and the Greater Kruger Area features some of the largest private game reserves in Africa, home to an incredible range of wildlife including the Big 5: the African elephant, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo and rhinoceros. Spanning across the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the Greater Kruger Area covers a near unfathomable span of land upon which animals both large and small prowl, graze and roam free. Alongside an experienced ranger and tracker, you will explore fascinating and beautiful frontiers through the afternoon and until the sun sets, camera in hand, before returning to your lodge to prepare for a decidedly different adventure; a freshly prepared dinner that you won’t be soon to forget.

Accommodation: Rhino Post Safari Lodge

Situated at the southern end of 12,000 hectare private concession within the central region of the Kruger National Park, is the “base” lodge for walking trails offered by Isibindi Africa, Rhino Post Safari Lodge. Set on the banks of the Mutlumuvi riverbed under shady Tamboti trees, the lodge has waterhole views and a relaxed ambience. The shady main camp has a dining area, lounge with a wine cellar, fireplace and bar, viewing deck and swimming pool and a waterhole. Day 5: Kruger

Ahead of first light it’s time set out on an early morning game drive to discover the many animals that stalk through the bush during the early hours of the day. This is one of the best times time to view game, and it is made all the more spectacular as the rising sun dawns upon the unspoiled African bush; the world over, this place is known as the Land of the Rising Sun. Prepare to spot resident predators enjoying the spoils of their hunt the night before and a dizzying range of smaller mammals and bird life. After a few hours of exploration, photography and education, you will return to the lodge for a mouth-watering, well-earned, fresh-made breakfast.

Continue your day after lunch with an exciting afternoon game drive. Perhaps the day will include massive, lumbering hippos emerging from the water to snack on nearby grasses, or predators beginning their nightly hunt as grazing antelope roam the plains. Out on the open reserves, trace across new lands as you gain a deeper and more intimate understanding of the South African bushveld before returning to the lodge for another fantastic dinner.

Day 6: Kruger

Before the blistering sun takes its place high in the African sky make use of the opportunity to discover even more wild game. First thing in the morning, depart to discover the animals of the Greater Kruger Area, home to herds of trumpeting elephants that gently wander through the savannah; will today be the day you see them first-hand? As in the day before, you will be returned to your lodge after a few hours of game viewing to enjoy a complete and hearty breakfast.

Night drives allow you to see nocturnal animals that are not encountered during the day, and a host of daylight animals behaving quite differently. Setting out as dusk begins, you may spot leopards in particular, and with a bit of luck, you may even encounter these predators while on the hunt. During evening drives, trackers employ a powerful spotlight to search for and showcase predators and prey. Lions, hyenas, aardvarks, bat-eared fox, porcupines, bush babies, bushbucks, mongoose, genet cats and nocturnal birds like owls and nightjars are just some of the animals fortunate guests may spot this evening under the African starlit sky.

  • Angelia M — June 22, 2019 — Africa

My Kenya trip was seriously the best trip of my life, and I absolutely loved every second of it! It was my dream vacation and the reality far exceeded the dream. Catherine, my trip consultant, answered all of my many questions and made sure everything went super smoothly. Daniel, my guide, was so fun, interesting, and informative. He went out of his way to make sure my trip was special. I really can't put into words how much I loved it other than I'm already thinking about another trip to Africa. I will definitely be using Kensington Tours again!

  • Chris S — May 17, 2019 — Africa

Our guide Elisha was absolutely incredible! He was friendly, helpful, funny, and remarkably knowledgeable about the area, the animals, and especially the birds! The accommodations were excellent and the staff at those places was wonderful. The Kubu Kubu tent camp in Serengeti was particularly special, and we felt truly appreciated and pampered by the staff. With their smiling help, we even learned some Swahili! Thank you for the trip of a lifetime.

  • Paul E — May 01, 2019 — Africa

We had no idea what to expect on this trip but exceeded even our wildest imagination. Daniel, with Kensington, laid out a wonderful plan. The upfront quality and detail on the proposal really sold us. The guides and local support crews on the trip, were on time, personable, and knowledgeable. Special shout out to Shamiel with Ilios Travel in Cape Town. He was joy and clearly loved sharing Cape Town with us.

  • Thomas S — June 14, 2019 — Africa

Karen Johnson was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and very friendly. Karen was readily available during the planning process and took the time to talk with and listen to us to find out about our wants and needs and ultimately designed our perfect vacation. We can not speak highly enough about her abilities.

  • Michael S — June 13, 2019 — Africa

The trip was the best thing we have ever done. The people we dealt with were professional and made sure every part of our trip was trouble free.

  • Raymond D — March 22, 2019 — Africa

The guides were friendly and very accommodating throughout my trip. One of the guides took me to the oldest tea house as a bonus on my tour. It was great being with the people and enjoying a cup of tea. My driver invited me to have Turkish coffee which was a very nice touch to my trip. The accommodations were phenomenal, being near the pyramids was outside of this world. The Kempinski Nile Hotel Garden City Cairo was a wonderful hotel as well. Gesa was great to work with! She was so nice and accommodating throughout the whole planning process. Especially during for the first part of my trip which had nothing to do with my tours with Kensington Tours. She planned everything out perfectly on my trip.

  • Donna M — June 02, 2019 — Africa

The Kensington Kenya and Tanzania African Safari itinerary and experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we were met at the airport, we were completely cared for. Our Destination Expert, Erin Cotton, even checked in on us during the trip. Our guides were excellent; Albert and Steve were exceptionally knowledgeable, organized and considerate. The accommodations were all fantastic with friendly staff, comfortable rooms for the family, and great food. Although the balloon trip over the Mara River was a highlight, each game drive was a memorable adventure as or guides toured Amboseli, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and the Masai Mara. We got to spend some time in the local villages and dine with some of the other tourists in the middle of the bush and on a spectacular cliff overlooking the plains of Kenya and Tanzania. Most of all, every morning we looked forward to spending time with our guides searching for animals and learning more about the whole ecosystem.

  • Catherine L — May 05, 2019 — Africa

Everything was absolutely wonderful - from the planning to the execution. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Will definitely work with Kensington on my next trip! (I'm headed to Hong Kong this December and think I should probably do some exploring while I'm there!)

  • Jennifer W — December 04, 2018 — Africa

Our trip was amazing! The accommodations were lovely. Our safari guide made the experience memorable! Our only job was to relax and enjoy. The guide for our day in Sawato and to visit the Apartheid museum was extremely knowledgeable. This is our second trip with Kensington Tours. We will definitely use again.

  • Tanya R — February 20, 2019 — Africa

We left everything to our tour rep, Louise Baer. She did a fantastic job. We had no expectations at all but were absolutely overwhelmed with our accommodations. We were treated so well by everyone. It was an unbelievable trip of a lifetime. Our drivers were fantastic. I felt so safe. Brilliant holiday. Thank you, Kensington!
