A Zambian inspired, owner-run experience is waiting for you on banks of the magnificent Zambezi River - Chundukwa River Lodge. Chundukwa offers an authentic encounter with the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls by virtue of its prime location just over 15 miles from Livingstone. Offering a refreshing departure from generic hotel experiences, the five chalets and family house are individually decorated and designed but all focus on their unique open-fronted layout, offering breathtaking views over the Zambezi. The decor and furniture has been tastefully made by Doug and Gail (the owners) using recycled wood, metal and sustainable reeds. Everything is made locally by a band of tradesmen and women from the local village.
Named after three species of bird typically found in Zambian Miombo woodland, the standard chalets are built on stilts overlooking the river and come with twin or King bed arrangements and showers. Children 10 and up are welcome.
Named after two species of bird typically found on the Zambezi River, the deluxe chalets are built on stilts overlooking the river and offer both bath and showers. Jacana can be converted into a 4 sleeper with 2 twins and a King (on request) while Kingfisher is typically favored by our Honeymooners. Children 10 and up are welcome.
Chundu cottage has two double rooms (one en-suite), and an upstairs loft with space for two guests. There is also a large verandah, private deck and swimming pool. A dedicated team of cook, waiter and housekeepers will prepare your meals in the house and take care of you. Children of all ages are welcome.
