Mchenja Camp

The Mchenja Camp is located in a stunning setting beneath the magnificent groves of trees on the banks of the Luangwa River. It is situated in an area rich in wildlife.  Mchenja Camp takes luxury to the bush. The camp comprises of five stylishly designed tents, each under its own thatched roof and with a deck in front overlooking the Luangwa River. The tents have inside baths with an outside shower room. There is a small pool alongside the bar within the thatched main chitenje, allowing guests to seek cool refuge after their morning's safari activities.

    Luxury Tent

    Each of the rooms and luxury tents are spacious, each containing two single or one king-sized bed. Additional beds for children can be added. Each room has a large wardrobe and shelving storage, and an indoor and/or outdoor comfortable seating area with table. Rooms in all camps have en-suite bathroom facilities, with plenty of hot water, towels and toiletries. In the evening hours, a staff member is always available to accompany guests to their room as desired, lighting the way and watching out for local wildlife.

        Where and when possible the highly trained culinary staff uses local products to create authentic meals and help boast the local economy. Most meals are served in the buffet-style, with dinner consisting of a three-course meal. All meals are freshly prepared at the camp and are served either in the main dining area or in the guest suites.


          The Mchenja Camp boasts a refreshing plunge pool and bar, the ideal stop to cool down after a day in the sun. The pool is located close to the river, providing an excellent view.
