A full day tour by car, with an experienced guide through Bagan will show you the best known temples of the area. We start the day climbing a pagoda to get a first impressive view over the whole area. From here the guide plans his way to some of the other amazing temples that have been here for hundreds of years. Places like the Ananda, Dhammayangyi, Sulamani, and Thatbyinnyu will certainly impress you. Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant and around 4:00 PM continue the tour by horse cart to Pyathagyi pagoda for sunset with some refreshing drinks served! Oh… we forgot to mention the best part of this tour; whenever you see a temple you like, just ask you guide to stop to have a look at it – simply pick your own favourite temple.

Accommodation: Bagan Lodge (4*)

Day 4: Bagan

Seeing the best of Bagan, almost exclusively for yourself with this early morning sunrise experience. Wake up early and leave with your guide to one of the quieter temples to see the sun coming up behind 15th century pagoda is certainly a special moment. Continue to another highlight and visit the magnificent Ananda temples, one of the best samples of Bagan architecture currently preserved with international help. Early morning this temples is very serene as your guide will try to make sure you are one of the first to enter this gem of Bagan. After a full tour and detailed explanation by your private guide it’s time to take you to a hidden place a bit more off the beaten track where you will be served a breakfast with a view! After a good breakfast it’s time to visit 2 more special temples and visit the lively market in Myinkaba village. You might see some monks doing their morning alms and stop to donate some food. Around 10:30 AM your guide will take you back to the hotel where you have time to relax during the hottest moment of the day.

Minnanthu is probably the most favorite temple area amongst frequent Bagan visitors and you know why? It’s quiet, it’s a beautiful area, and the temples here are often completely deserted. Your guide will bring you by car to this forgotten part of Bagan and will spread out a blanket and serve you a great picnic lunch in this historical setting before or after visiting 2 or 3 ancient temples ruins in this area.

Preparations were excellent - we really appreciated the attention to detail. The VIP Visa handling in Vietnam & Cambodia was much appreciated also. Guides were outstanding - particularly Borin in Cambodia.

  • Charles M. — September 22, 2017 — Asia

We had a GREAT time on this tour with our granddaughter. All the tour guides were knowledgeable. Thanks for planning this great trip for us.

  • Levi P — August 22, 2017 — Asia

Used Kensington Tours to book my honeymoon in the foreign speaking country of Thailand. It was great to not have to worry about transportation or accommodation. Our itinerary was amazing but the best part was probably our English speaking guides. We had three separate guides and each of them became like close friend to us. The travel was long but I wouldn't trade our experience in Thailand for anything.

  • Karen K — August 22, 2017 — Asia

I went to private tour w Kensington to Japan for 3 weeks last month. It was incredible. My daughter was studying in Niigata so I wanted her to hook up with me periodically throughout my tour to see all the highlights of Japan. It worked out perfectly. I'd personally like to thank Adam Watkins who was incredible with detail, kindness and professionalism. The guide selection was a perfect fit. I cannot say enough about my and my daughter's experience with Kensington Tours. A trip of a lifetime.

  • Debra Y — August 22, 2017 — Asia
