From incredible natural scenery to exotic wildlife to fascinating cities bristling with things to see and do, Australia is one of those places that every traveler should get to see at least once. Come along on this exciting journey that touches multicultural Melbourne, the Great Barrier Reef, stunning Sydney and more.

We start in cosmopolitan Melbourne, the capital of Victoria and the most European of Australia’s cities. Melbourne is famous for its café scene and street culture, and you’ll get the chance to experience them first-hand on a guided morning stroll from vibrant Federation Square, followed by a free afternoon to explore on your own. Nature isn’t far away in Melbourne, as you’ll discover later on a guided tour of Phillip Island, a magical spot in the Western Port bay that’s home to the Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park and populations of kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, and all sorts of colorful reptiles and birds. Depending on the season, you’ll visit nearby Cowes or witness the Penguin Parade, where dozens of the tuxedoed birds come ashore.

Next, the scene shifts to the far northern reaches of Queensland and Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. From here, embark on a full day of snorkeling and swimming aboard a glass-bottomed boat around Upolu Cay, a part of the reef that, when conditions are right, you can even stand on. A little farther north near Cape Tribulation, step out on a guided tour of Daintree National Park, a biodiversity hotspot where you’ll get close to all sorts of wild creatures, from vibrant butterflies and endemic cassowaries to rat-kangaroos and ringtail possum. You’ll also cross into the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and stand amid the hills of gorgeous Mount Alexandra before heading south to your next stop: Sydney. ... Show More »

As Australia’s largest city and one of the South Pacific’s most important ports, Sydney is, quite simply, a must-visit for any traveler. After a little free time to get to know this vibrant and scenic city, take to the streets and on a tour of Sydney’s many highlights, including its stylish shopping district and trendy Oxford Street, then take to the water for a scenic cruise of the postcard-perfect harbor for incredible views of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, and Mrs. Macquaries Point. The experience wraps up in fine style with an incredible full-day tour of the nearby Blue Mountains area, an impossibly picturesque stretch of the Great Dividing Range known for its stunning sandstone escarpments. After meeting kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and other creatures at Featherdale Wildlife Park, you’ll be taken into Blue Mountains National Park to enjoy a spot of tea before visiting the Kings Tableland, Wentworth Falls, and the famous Three Sisters rock formation; a suitably breathtaking end to a tour filled with jaw-dropping moments.

Day 2: Melbourne

The lanes and arcades of Melbourne are truly mesmerizing. From the high arched ceilings of the Royal Arcade, opened in 1870, to the rich decorations of the Block Arcade, in operation since 1892, they never fail to impress. Housing a range of family-operated boutique curios, on this behind-the-scenes tour you’ll learn the fascinating history of this cosmopolitan city while being introduced to some of its most interesting districts. As you explore myriad passageways, you’ll spot cutting edge street art (or perhaps have the chance to watch as a new mural is designed) and also make a stop at a local chocolate shop for a light tasting. Toward the end of the experience, chat with your guide to develop a plan for the rest of the day or simply continue to explore the area on your own, perhaps returning to a few favorite gems in the afternoon. As this tour operates in all weather conditions, please ensure you are dressed appropriately. • Mona Y — June 14, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Rehana was wonderful. Her recommendations were all top notch and made me realize how well she knew Australia. Everything ran like clockwork and that allowed us to make the most of what was actually a short time in Australia. She was also very patient with my many questions and gave me alternatives when I asked. It is the third time that we've used Kensington Tours and I can't imagine using anyone else. We've never been disappointed.

  • Curtis L — March 21, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Kerry Brown was an exceptional travel consultant throughout the entire planning phase as well as a responsive resource as we encountered a few challenges while travelling. Her personal interest in our comfort, convenience, and pleasure made our trip an unforgettable experience. We will definitely consider using Kensington for international travel.

Samantha was amazing and the trip was wonderful and enchanting! Guides were amazing and super knowledgeable. Special shout out to Kenn Holmes (Brisbane) who not only provided an amazing tour of the Australian Zoo but went above and beyond to look for medical care for me for an ear infection during our day together. He was amazing!

  • Susan S — June 05, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Our trip to New Zealand was a special occasion in that I was celebrating my 70th birthday. Our itinerary was jam-packed as we were visiting both the North and South Islands, that included 6 cities and 4 national parks. Kensington Tours truly did an outstanding job arranging for our transportation, hotels and tour guides. They far exceeded my expectations.

  • Jennifer B — February 19, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

We felt like rock stars on this trip! Everything was so well arranged and of high quality. The guides were all excellent and even the drivers to and from the airports provided a mini-tour during the transport. Many thanks for Jennifer May for accommodating our preferences of activities and hotels and making this all possible.

  • Jennifer U. — September 30, 2018 — Australia & Pacific

We had run into a snag on our trip. When we could not resolve this on our own we reached out to the after-hours contact at Kensington and between her and our original trip organizer, the issue was resolved for us promptly. It let us enjoy the rest of our trip without the stress of having to deal with the issue on our own. Peace of mind is priceless.
