Day 1: Melbourne

For your comfort, an assistant will be waiting for you outside of Customs holding a sign with your name on it. This representative will assist you in meeting your private driver and accompany you to your accommodation in Melbourne to assist with check-in.

It is here in Melbourne that local chefs, celebrities, and wine masters find their voice and craft some of the country’s best and most exciting dining experiences. Many of Melbourne’s wine-focused restaurants are off the main streets, found in establishments where the design of the experience is considered to be as important as the creations of the kitchen. In the early evening, set out on foot to discover three unique restaurants where sommeliers’ influence both the menus and cellaring choices. More than a wine tasting experience, this is a night to indulge in a few of Melbourne's epicurean establishments and to explore the relationship between the often silent heroes of the wine industry and Melbourne’s culinary scene. A small group tour with a maximum group size of just eight guests, your guide will lead the way from restaurant to restaurant, providing key insights along the way to ensure this degustation experience masterfully combines food, wine and local insights.

Kensington Tours did a great job in setting up our itinerary for a trip to Australia. We were wowed by the Alamanda Resort hotel in Palm Cove, Queensland. We were also very impressed with all but one of the drivers who transported us. The company that led the trip out to the Great Barrier Reef was outstanding.

Renee Need was very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable!

  • Leonard C — November 07, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Can't think of a trip where everything went so well. Every transfer, every tour, both hotels, exceeded expectations. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable people from Renee through all we met on the ground in Cairns, Port Douglas and Mossman.

  • Juliet G — November 07, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Colin Rowe was fabulous. He showed real concern for our comfort and was always there to answer our questions. He is very knowledgeable and a real asset to your organization. We would ask for him by name if we travel again. The meals were delightful, and the tour guides were not only well versed in the culture and surroundings, but offered delightful personal stories during the ride that enhanced our trip. Our accommodations were excellent - both the Four Points Sheraton in Perth and the Radisson Blu in Sydney were first class. Clean and very comfortable. Overall, a wonderful trip!
