Australia is a truly massive country, and while you could easily fly over it, you’d be selling it and yourself short. Take to the rails with us on this exciting adventure that connects the Great Barrier Reef, the Red Centre, and two special cities – charming Adelaide and sophisticated Sydney. Australia’s wide-open spaces are wider than just about anywhere else’s. Don’t miss them; meet them.

It all begins in Cairns; a port city fortuitously positioned close to two UNESCO World Heritage sites. You’ll meet – and snorkel – the first one, the majestic Great Barrier Reef, on a comfortable full-day cruise complete with a delectable seafood lunch, then slip into the misty rainforest of the second, Daintree National Park’s biologically diverse Wet Tropics area, on a privately guided cruise en route to Cape Tribulation, one of the most scenic points in an already picturesque landscape. Next, learn about the spiritual importance of Uluru (Ayers Rock) to the Aborigines through local lore and folk tales, then walk the red-rock gorges that surround the sacred 2,831-foot-tall sandstone monolith by day before returning to a luxury wilderness camp at night. In Alice Springs, take to the rails aboard the legendary Ghan Express, Australia’s most famous sleeper train, and journey across the sprawling outback to Adelaide and nearby Kangaroo Island. Here, you’ll visit Seal Bay, home to Australia’s third-largest colony of sea lions, and meet with a naturalist before taking a scenic walk to Hanson Bay for a truly staggering view of the ocean crashing against the rocky shore. Departing Adelaide aboard the Indian Pacific, you’ll cross New South Wales through the magnificent Blue Mountains to your last stop, dazzling Sydney. First, discover this coastal gem in style on a private tour of the city’s insiders-only hotspots and motor along the shore to Bondi Beach and secluded Vaucluse Bay inside a 1964 Holden EH, a quintessential Aussie ride. Later, take a private tour of the Sydney Opera House and learn how the landmark building came to be before wrapping up your journey on a full-day tour of the UNESCO-protected Greater Blue Mountains, home to amazing Three Sisters rock formation, fascinating endemic wildlife, and some of the prettiest natural viewpoints you’ll find anywhere on Earth. ... • Sheri S — March 31, 2018 — Australia & Pacific

The Kensington guides were the best guides with whom we have worked with. They were authentic and truly knowledgeable of every aspect of our trip. Renee, our destination expert, did an unparalleled job of bringing it all together, even with our last minute requests. Thank you for an unforgettable trip of a lifetime!

  • Lauren J. — January 31, 2018 — Australia & Pacific

Our trip was flawless! All of the operators and guides were knowledgeable and friendly!

  • Frank M — October 06, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

This is our 6th Tour with Kensington. Needless to say we love every tour that we took. Kerry Brown was a very wonderful agent who attended to every one of our requests with enthusiasm and dedication. We really "loved " her.

  • Jayshree R — October 06, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

We enjoyed our tour very much!

  • Caren M — October 23, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Kensington Tours did a great job in setting up our itinerary for a trip to Australia. We were wowed by the Alamanda Resort hotel in Palm Cove, Queensland. We were also very impressed with all but one of the drivers who transported us. The company that led the trip out to the Great Barrier Reef was outstanding.

  • Mary S — October 23, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Renee Need was very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable!

  • Leonard C — November 07, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Can't think of a trip where everything went so well. Every transfer, every tour, both hotels, exceeded expectations. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable people from Renee through all we met on the ground in Cairns, Port Douglas and Mossman.

  • Juliet G — November 07, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Colin Rowe was fabulous. He showed real concern for our comfort and was always there to answer our questions. He is very knowledgeable and a real asset to your organization. We would ask for him by name if we travel again. The meals were delightful, and the tour guides were not only well versed in the culture and surroundings, but offered delightful personal stories during the ride that enhanced our trip. Our accommodations were excellent - both the Four Points Sheraton in Perth and the Radisson Blu in Sydney were first class. Clean and very comfortable. Overall, a wonderful trip!

  • Arthur P — September 08, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

It was all we hoped for and more, fantastic experience.

  • Kathleen H — September 08, 2017 — Australia & Pacific

Our Kensington destination expert, Kate Perrier, did an extraordinary job of putting together a custom itinerary for my family. My family and I travelled nearly 11,000 miles to get to Australia and got to see everything we were most interested in thanks to Kate's expert planning!
