Day 2: Jerusalem

Accompanied by your private guide enjoy a full day city tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. Delve into the history and visit the important sites that make up the city’s past. Begin at the Tower of David, also called the Jerusalem Citadel, a landmark that dates back to the Mamluk and Ottoman period. Visit the famous Hezekiah’s Tunnel and explore the archeological remnants. Continue onto the Jewish Quarter to see a significant landmark - the Western Wall nicknamed the ‘wailing wall’ after the worshipers who use it as an open-air synagogue. Soak up the atmosphere and continue through the Jewish quarter to the Christian quarter for a walk along the Via Dolorosa. The road was once an important pilgrimage route for Christian visitors, believed to mark the way to the site of Jesus’ crucifixion at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Day 3: Jerusalem

Iconic natural wonders dot the Israeli landscape, playing their own role in the Holy Land’s lengthy biblical history. Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea stand out in the Jordan Rift Valley against the dramatic backdrop of the mountains on the Jordanian side of the border. With your English-speaking driver-guide, start the day with a visit to the beautiful Ein Gedi Reserve, a stunning desert oasis graced with waterfalls and referenced several times in the Book of Psalms. Continue by car to Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous as the site of King Herod’s desert mountain get-away palace, and the scene of the zealots’ final stand against the Roman Legion, with stunning vistas overlooking the desert and Dead Sea below.

Ascend to the summit by cable car, and explore the excavation of King Herod’s palaces, the bathhouse, storerooms, the ancient ramp used to ascend the mountain, and one of the oldest still-standing synagogues. It is possible to hike up the Snake Path to the summit of Masada, but this is only recommended for guests in good health, as the 90-minute hike in the hot desert sun is quite challenging. End the day with a soak in theDead Sea, famous for it its hyper-salinated waters and for being the lowest place on earth, located 1,412 feet below sea level. The sea was home to one of the worlds first health resorts, dedicated to King Herod. The waters have been receding over the past hundred years, leading to cooperative engineering projects between Israel and Jordan to protect the resource in the future.

Visit ruins of an ancient synagogue, the still standing Church of St. Joseph and the site of the miracle of the Loaves and the Fish before arriving at Yardenit, the site where the lake empties into the Jordan River.

Fantastic guides and wonderful accommodations. Our trip was something that we will remember forever.

  • Jaime T — October 23, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

Our trip to Egypt was excellent!!!. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the Kensington Representatives in Cairo and Luxor. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left every single one of them was making sure we were satisfied with the trip! Their only focus was to make our experience one of a kind. I was delighted by the high level of service my husband and I received on board of the Sonesta Star Goddess Ship! The ship is not the newest but the service and food make up for it. Additionally, I would like to highlight our Egyptologist Mohamed Mosa! He was extremely knowledgeable, passionate about what he does and very friendly! Our guide in Cairo, Roba was also very sweet and friendly. Again, my husband and I had a wonderful experience and would recommend Kensington and encourage people to visit Egypt! It is absolutely spectacular!

  • Paula Handler — October 23, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

  • Perry H. — September 26, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

Our Egyptian trip was a phenomenal experience. The guides and transportation met and exceeded all our expectations. The tours set up by Kensington were perfect; they included 18 separate locations from the Great Pyramids of Giza to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities and everything in between. An was our guide for two full days, her understanding and knowledge of Cairo and ancient Egypt was truly a pleasure to experience.

  • Arthur P. — September 22, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

It was all we hoped for and more! Fantastic experience.

  • Arthur P — September 08, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

  • Tami Grafe — August 14, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

Oh my goodness the trip was unbelievable. The guides were exceptional and very kind and accommodating let alone the knowledge they had. It was a trip of a life time. I loved every minute of the trip. Kensington Tours is exceptional

  • Devon Vaughan — August 14, 2017 — Egypt & Middle East

This was such an amazing trip. We greatly appreciate how informative our host Mohamed and all of the guides we had were. Our host met with us every day except for when we were on the boat and gave us a rundown of what we were doing that day, etc. We never once waited on the guides or van drivers, everything in our tour went exceptionally smooth! We could not have asked for better tour guides. Hala, Mohamed Saad and Mohamed Mekkay are very knowledgeable guides, they offered so much information on everything that we saw and were able to answer all of our questions. We absolutely loved them. Thank you so much for such a great experience!
