Day 2: London

Departing with a private guide and driver, you’ll set out on a half-day tour to experience the highlights of London, with opportunities to see many of the iconic sights of this global metropolis. Discover the West End, home to some of the world’s most prolific theaters, where you’ll pass by the renowned Royal Albert Hall before traveling through the City of Westminster and the City of London, the oldest part of the capital, and home to the financial district. See Marble Arch, historically used for royal processions, as well as the serene Hyde Park, with its lively Speakers’ Corner. Stop at Buckingham Palace, home of the Queen and site of the daily ‘changing of the guards’, an icon of British pageantry. View Harrods in Knightsbridge, and renowned squares like Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square with Nelson’s Column. You’re welcome to discuss with your guide if there’s a sight of particular interest that you’d like to view during your tour.

There is nothing quite like gliding along the River Thames, passing beneath the various lit-up bridges as the city's famous landmarks unfold around you at night. Many of the historic and modern buildings along the banks of the river are illuminated by floodlights in the evening, making for beautiful views of the city as you cruise by. Enjoy a window seat, and a set menu five-course dinner as you cruise this evening, accompanied by elegant background music performed live on board (ambient music Monday-Friday, big band on Saturdays). Coffee and tea are provided after dessert, though other drinks during your evening cruise are payable on the spot.

Day 3: London

Spend the day outside of London on a full day shared coach tour to visit a pair of UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Bath and Stonehenge. First, discover the ancient site of Stonehenge, where mysterious stone pillars dating back over 5,000 years have left archaeologists and historians baffled alike. Thought by many to have been a ritualistic burial site, or a solar calendar and monument to the solstice, it’s definitely one of England’s must-see icons. Explore the site and decide for yourself whether it was a place of sun worship, a healing sanctuary, a sacred burial site, or something different altogether! In Bath, you'll admire landmarks like Bath Abbey, a stunning Gothic church with history dating back to the 7th century. Marvel at the magnificent 18th century architecture of Royal Crescent, with a uniform Georgian façade designed by John Wood, the Younger. Visit the Roman Baths and Temple complex, providing you with access to four main features: the near 2,000-year-old remains of the Temple of Aquae Sulis, the Roman bath house, the Sacred Spring (the only hot spring in Britain), and a well-presented museum of artifacts found at the complex.

Day 5: Edinburgh

Today, you will enjoy a scenic half-day walking tour of Edinburgh. You will be met at your hotel by a professional guide to commence your private tour. The buzz of Scotland's capital city sits in perfect contrast to the peaceful tranquility of the surrounding Lothians region. Edinburgh has one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world, making it the ideal city break destination. From ceilidhs and science to ghost, film and food festivals there is always something going on in Edinburgh. Discover world-class museums and galleries, learn the history of the city or spend an afternoon pub crawling - whatever your fancy! Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and perhaps take an umbrella just in case!

Edinburgh Castle is Scotland's most famous tourist attraction and has dominated its surroundings with majesty for centuries. Historically, the castle has withstood numerous attacks from Oliver Cromwell's Roundheads in 1650, and William and Mary's army in 1689. The buildings within the fortress include a 12th-century chapel (Edinburgh's oldest building) and the Great Hall, completed in 1511. The castle is home to the National War Museum of Scotland, hosts the Edinburgh Military Tattoo every August and is still an active army base. Learn more about the history and stories that make this ancient place so amazing at your leisure.

Your sensational journey into the world of Scotch whisky begins here. You will become part of the whisky making process as you take a swirling, bubbling ride through a virtual distillery. Learn the secrets of the Scotch whisky regions and the art of whisky blending with a guided sensory presentation. Then, with your chosen Scotch whisky in hand, enter the mesmerizing whisky collection - the world's largest in private hands! You'll finish your tour in a fascinating and beautiful McIntyre Gallery and bar, where you can indulge your newfound passion for Scotch whisky at your leisure.

Drive north out of Edinburgh and you'll be amazed by the engineering miracle of the Forth Railway Bridge. Then, as you are travelling through Stirlingshire, your guide will bring to life the turbulent times of William Wallace - dramatised in the film Braveheart - and explain his link to the countryside you're passing through. You'll stop at the beautiful city of Stirling, site of the Wallace Monument. You'll have ample time to explore the stunning castle (optional) or stroll through the beautiful and ancient streets that surround it. Take in the view along the Duke's Pass. The route takes you through the spectacular Duke's Pass which offers spectacular views to the peaks of the stunning Trossach Mountains and carries you past some of Scotland's most picturesque lochs. Stroll the Bonnie Bonnie banks. Your lunchtime stop is by Loch Lomond. Why not try lunch (not included) at a traditional pub built out of a 300-year-old oak tree and then walk the shores of Britain's largest expanse of fresh water? The journey home holds one last treat. You'll have the chance to visit one of Scotland's most beautiful distilleries, Glencoyne Distillery and get a taste of the true spirit of the country - a Highland Malt Whisky (optional). Day 8: Dublin

Enjoy a private tour in the company of a private vehicle, and driver-guide exploring the ancient site of Newgrange - one of the great wonders of western ancient civilization that needs to be seen close up to be fully appreciated. Predating the Pyramids, it is a complex chamber that is perfectly aligned to catch the morning sun on the winter solstice. There are two other major tombs at Knowth and Dowth, both equally impressive and different in character. Nearby is the River Boyne where the famous Battle of the Boyne took place. The land here is lush and full of ancient and medieval ruins that are testaments to Irelands great heritage. In order to give as much flexibility as possible, we have not included entrance fees and these can be paid in person on site.

Spend the afternoon as you wish, perhaps visiting one of the many attractions such as the Guinness Storehouse or the Jameson distillery.

Located in the heart of the St James’s Gate Brewery, the Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s No. 1 Dublin Tourist attraction.
