Day 1: London

Meet your personal driver at Heathrow airport, and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel.

A welcome package with a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip.

One of the world's great cities, vibrant London manages to shine in the grayest weather and its diversity defies a simple definition. This sprawling city has drawn people for centuries, looking for something and finding the unexpected. It's one of the world's most international cities and its influences blend to create something uniquely wonderful. Let your Guide know your particular interests and they will help you discover the city on your half day walking tour of central London. Learn how to take the "tube", explore the cobblestone streets, gardens, and markets, and be a Londoner for a day. Your Guide will meet you at your hotel. Please note that one should wear comfortable shoes and a hat; suitable for children. (No entrance fees included)

Tonight, you will have the opportunity to dine at your leisure. There are some great restaurants in the West End of London. J Sheeky is an incredibly smart seafood restaurant, while Mildred's is London's best veggie restaurant. Sketch is the trendiest place in London and specializes in some of the best French food you will ever taste. For those looking for something simple and cheerful, enjoy a nice meal out at Zipangu. Alternatively, try the amazingly stylish Corrigan’s Mayfair.

Day 2: London - Royal Tunbridge Wells

Meet up with your fellow floral enthusiasts this morning (8.30am) at the Grange Wellington Hotel (Address: 71-72 Vincent Square, London, SW1P 2PA) and get ready to see some of southern England's best horticultural examples and fine manor houses and estates. (It is recommended to arrive at the hotel at 8:00am if you have not overnighted here).

Your small group tour of England’s green and pleasant land begins at one of its most unique manor houses. Igtham Mote dates back over 700 years, and can only be reached by crossing pretty stone bridges that stretch over its very own moat.

In the afternoon you will visit Scotney Castle, a 14th century moated castle surrounded by picturesque gardens and over 770 acres of woodland and parkland. Voted one of the best gardens in England, it boasts a suburb display of rhododendrons and azaleas. The end of your action-packed first day brings you to Tunbridge Wells, a historic spa town with a pretty town center where you will spend the night.

Enjoy a delicious welcome dinner with the other members of your tour.

Accommodation: Hotel Du Vin (or similar)

Lovingly converted from a Grade II-listed mansion, Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is one of this beautiful spa town's architectural landmarks. We've amplified the beautiful, authentic Georgian period detail, and, of course, added our own characteristic twists throughout. Stroll in the beautiful gardens, enjoy the clink of glasses on the terrace or dine al fresco with wonderful views across lush lawns to the ornamental gardens of Calverley Park. Take afternoon tea in the Tea Lounge. Flop into a leather sofa with your favorite tipple or explore our extensive wine list in the Burgundy Bar. Celebrate a family get-together or stylish wedding in one of our quirky, private rooms. Relax with a digestif and fine cigar in the atmospheric Cigar Bothy. Tuck in to tasty, seasonal dishes in our trademark bistro. All before immersing yourself in a handsprung mattress with Egyptian cotton bed linen on your huge custom-made bed in one of our 34 unique bedrooms, complete with fluffy towels and robes, and monsoon shower or roll-top bath.

Please note that your hotel may be the above, or a hotel of similar standard and will be confirmed prior to departure.

Day 3: Royal Tunbridge Wells

This morning your road turns east to Sissinghurst Castle Gardens. Created by writer Vita Sackville-West and her husband Harold Nicolson in the 1930s, it is renowned for its romantic design and colorful rose gardens.

Next, you'll swap architectural layouts for a naturalistic approach to planting at Great Dixter. Tour the old, timber-framed house that was home to British gardening royalty Christopher Lloyd, and explore the gardens that were his pride and joy.

Day 4: Royal Tunbridge Wells - Windsor

Today roam the grounds at Hever Castle. It's like stepping into a dream, with giant chess pieces, classical statues, Italian grottoes, and bustling crowds of colourful tulips. As well as unearthing all the surprises this award-winning garden has to offer, discover the castle that was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second Queen.

Then it’s time to enjoy the afternoon among the tranquil surrounds of RHS Garden Wisley. Take in the sounds of water flowing though the rock garden, or relax in the Alpine meadow, before you continue on to Windsor where you'll check in to your new hotel.

Day 5: Windsor

Wake today with a free morning stretching out in front of you. And what better way to spend it than discovering Windsor’s regal highlights? Listen out for the sounds of drums, then pause on the High Street to see the royal guards, in their classic red uniforms and tall ‘bearskin’ hats, march up to the castle. You can pay a visit to the castle itself, which is one of the oldest in Europe that’s still in use.

Come back and re-join your group to visit the Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park. Renowned for its award-winning rhododendrons, it’s a beautiful place to stroll through. Look out for rare plants from around the world as you walk through its themed gardens that showcase the beauty of the seasons.

Day 6: Windsor - London

This morning, swap English country houses for an elegant French château at Waddesdon Manor. Built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the late 19th century, Waddesdon is inspired by Renaissance-era Gallic grandeur, inside and out. Feast your eyes on the intricate parterre garden, and listen out for birdsong in the rococo influenced aviar. Next, marvel at the grand designs at Cliveden. With colourful gardens for all seasons and glorious views over the River Thames, this truly is something special. Then it’s time to travel to London, and look forward to all the excitement of the following day.

Accommodation: Petersham Hotel (or similar)

Retreat to one of the elegant guest bedrooms of The Petersham and experience classic style, refined comfort and stunning views. Located in Richmond, you'll have a perfect haven of comfort and calm away from the crowds of London, providing the perfect place to get a proper night’s sleep. All guestrooms are traditional in style, in keeping with the rich Victorian history that surrounds the hotel.

Day 7: London

The highlight of your adventure, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, is yours to enjoy for a full day. From gardens designed to conjure up a slice of anywhere from Provence to Japan, to urban patches with remarkable water features, this is the place to see the very best of contemporary garden design. Or immerse yourself in the countless colourful varieties on display from talented international growers. With so many inventive ideas and beautiful sights to enjoy, this truly is a dream come true for anyone who loves flowers and gardening.

To round off the day in style, sit down together for a farewell dinner.

Day 8: London

For a finishing touch, visit the Kew Royal Botanic Gardens. Contemporary sculptures are dotted here and there between pretty gardens and majestic trees. The palm house, a jaw-dropping example of Victorian engineering, is sure to add a final flourish to that holiday photo album.

Your Small Group Tour ends this afternoon upon arrival at The Grange Wellington Hotel (Address: 71-72 Vincent Square, London, SW1P 2PA) at approximately 5.30pm. Bid farewell to your Guide and fellow travellers as you close the chapter on this part of your travels.

Please note that since there will be various small group departures around this event all starting and ending at the same time, each mini-coach will follow a different itinerary in order to maintain the small group feel of your trip. Whilst all of the gardens and stately home listed above will be visited, the days in which they are visited and the order of the visits will vary from what has been published.

All tours involve walking and require guests to board and disembark vehicles several times a day making this tour unsuitable for those with reduced mobility.

Transfer using a local taxi. Please note that this is not included in trip price and is payable locally.

  • Kimberly M — September 15, 2017 — Europe

Fiona was fabulous and planned a dream vacation for us from start to finish. Our guides and tours were all very personable, knowledgeable, and comfortable. Our drivers were very punctual and professional. Our itinerary and tickets kept us knowing exactly where and when we needed to be somewhere. The weather, food and hotels were amazing. We truly had our dream vacation and now need a beach vacation to recuperate from the fast paced vacation we just returned from! Would recommend your agency to anyone! Thank You!

  • David B. — September 22, 2017 — Europe

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our trip! Thank you for the attention to detail and comprehensive planning!

  • Cleo M. — September 22, 2017 — Europe

Excellent guidance and assistance from Rachel Cook in your Delaware office and great guides/drivers. The hotel was nicely situated and everything went smoothly - we thank you! It was our first time on such a tour and we would like to try it again.

  • Suzanne A. — September 22, 2017 — Europe

We had an amazing experience with Kensington! I loved our specialist Garret. He was incredibly helpful! We also really loved our guide in Cape Town.

  • Kyran D — September 15, 2017 — Europe

Our tour expert Rachel Cooke was outstanding! She handled all inquiries and requests with great professionalism and patience. The location of our hotels were optimal for touring and easy access to trains and metro. Tour guides Marion for the Latin Quarter, Frederick the Louvre, Bruno Mont St Michel and Melanie for the beaches of Normandy were all very knowledgeable and delightful to be with!

  • Donna O — September 15, 2017 — Europe

Andrew was an amazing guide starting in Inverness! And Debbie was great for our walking tour in Edinburgh. We could not be happier! We learned so much about Scotland and enjoyed every minute of our trip.

  • Robert Goodby — August 14, 2017 — Europe

This was one of the best trips we've ever taken. Everything worked as planned, someone was always waiting to greet us at each transfer point, and the guides in Moscow and St. Petersburg were absolutely first-rate: knowledgeable, friendly, fluent in English, and very helpful. Our conversations with them about Russian life and history were an unexpected bonus to what was already a highly educational and informative itinerary.

  • Peter Stephanos — August 14, 2017 — Europe

Kensington was top notch. Our transfers were always on-time and courteous/professional. When there was a labor strike in Athens, they rescheduled our cancelled ferry and booked us on a flight. We had no idea until they called and said we had been booked on the flight. So helpful that we didn't ever have to stress!

  • Barbara Schulman — August 14, 2017 — Europe

We had an absolutely WONDERFUL trip; Everything was perfectly planned by Kensington; all drivers were professional and the city guides were excellent, educated in the history of their city and enjoyable to be with. Upon hearing that we were artists, one guide even changed her tour to include local artworks that we would not have known about , and we were thrilled. We have never had a tour planned personally for the 2 of us, and were delighted with the results. All contacts with our planner, Jason Susinski, were timely and professional. We will definitely travel with Kensington again.

  • Nancy Silvio — August 14, 2017 — Europe

This was my first experience with a totally guided tour. It was wonderful to not have to worry about anything, it was all well planned out. What we did see was wonderful, important and the guides were knowledgeable and kind. When we expressed interest in going bowling in Berlin he made sure we found the best place!! Anything was possible.
