France may not have invented wine, but it’s arguable that nowhere else on Earth has gone so far to perfect it. And to oenophiles, “Bordeaux” and “Burgundy” are magic words. Best known for their spectacular reds, sophisticated whites, and terroir that makes the flavor of each vineyard’s product distinct from its neighbors, the charming towns and magnificent landscapes of these regions are almost worth coming for on their own. And then, of course, there’s Paris; the inimitable “City of Light” that’s home to so many of the country’s pleasures and fascinating history. All that’s missing is you.

It begins in Paris with a privately guided half-day tour of the city and its famous landmarks — including Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, and the iconic Eiffel Tower — before stepping into the 17th-century wine cellar for a private tasting with its owner. In Bordeaux, explore the UNESCO-protected Old Town with a private guide, then embark on a full day tour of the renowned fairy-tale like Saint-Émilion, enjoying three wine-tasting stops along the way. Later, devote a full day to the extraordinary wines of the fabled Médoc region with the help of a private driver. The scene then shifts to Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wine country, where you’ll embark on a half-day private tour of scenic wine regions like Pommard, Volnay, and Puligny-Montrachet and be treated to a tasting at a Chassagne-Montrachet chateau. Your last full day in Beaune is one to remember, with a full-day private tour of Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, and Hautes Côtes, complete with tastings in gorgeous chateaus and the services of your very own driver. ... Day 2: Paris

With your private guide and driver, embark on a half-day exploration into the history of Paris, while bearing witness to all of the must-see highlights in the City of Lights. Make your way to Ile de la Cite, where the medieval city was focused, and where you can admire the cathedral of Notre-Dame, one of the most famous Catholic churches in the world. In Le Marais district, a chic quarter known for its food, you can see the stunning Place des Vosges, a historic planned square formerly populated by Parisian nobility. After, make your way to see the courtyards of the world famous Louvre, the largest palace and museum in Europe. Admire breathtaking architecture while your guide stimulates the imagination with tales and legends from the palace's past. Continue on to learn about Paris at the time of Napoleon as you see the imposing Arc de Triomphe on the renowned Champs-Elysees, then learn about the World's Fair held in 1900 as you head over towards the Eiffel Tower, and Trocadéro – which boasts the best view of the Tower in the entire city! Head up the Eiffel Tower with your guide, and see the city's true beauty from the third floor observation deck, where the views are remarkable.

Meet your private driver and vehicle setting out for a private wine tasting with Lionel Michelin, wine expert and vintages collector. He will host you in his 17th century cellar, a mythical site where the famous wine merchant Jean-Baptiste Besse settled in the early 30’s. This cellar has received amateur wine enthusiasts from all over the world for over 50 years, including Hemingway and Ustinov. Revisions were made to Lionel Michelin's property in 2004, inspired by De Vinis Illustribus. The final product was an amazing collaboration of history and passion, transforming this special location into a wine connoisseurs dream. The first basement cellar is a place where the greatest bottles are stored. The second basement cellar, which was built in 1636, is especially dedicated to old vintage wines ranging over more than a century. Your exclusive wine tasting will be conducted in English by the owner Lionel Michelin himself. He will share with you his passion for enology and analyze and comment on each wine: region, varietal, characteristics, evolution and harmony with served dishes. You'll also enjoy an included lunch, selected according to the wines, including top-quality gourmet products like foie gras, cooked meats, smoked salmon, fine cheeses and pastries. Afterward, you'll transfer back to your hotel.

  • Irene Y. — September 13, 2018 — Europe

This trip was just what we were looking for, a private tour of England, Scotland and Dublin. Julie C. was awesome! She and I worked together to figure out what my family and I wanted to do. I could have never done it without her! The cars/guides were waiting at the airport for us. Everyone associated with Kensington Tours was so helpful and kind. The location of the 3 hotels, we stayed in, were amazing!! We walked everywhere! Each tour, we were scheduled for, went smoothly, and on time. The tour guides were so smart and informative about the places we went. I didn't stand in one hotel concierge line. My tickets and vouchers were printed out and in hand ahead of time. Julie even researched and scheduled horseback riding in the Dublin Mountains, which they hadn't handled before. What a highlight that was!! This trip was everything I asked for. I will be using Kensington Tours and Julie again!!

  • Lesley M. — September 04, 2018 — Europe
