Thus, you can visit a town with its defensive walls still entirely intact, complete with towers and elevated walkways. You will see this fantastic city and cover its rich history – it was once one of the 10 largest cities in the entire Holy Roman Empire! You will gain information on the castle, the fountains, wells, the city churches and art treasures, as well as a flavour about the city's colourful past and cosmopolitan present. Entrance fees are not included.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The enticing smells of mulled wine and rum punch, roasted almonds, Nuremberg bratwurst and gingerbread fill the air. And it’s not only tiny tots who will have their eyes all a-glow as the Nuremberg Christkind appears on the balcony of the Church of Our Lady to open the holiday season. Friday before the first Sunday in Advent is the day it all begins as she opens the world-famous Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt. From then until Christmas Eve, the "little town of wood and cloth" will shine in the heart of Nuremberg’s Old Town and turn it into “Christmas City”. More than 180 market stands – all decorated for Christmas with fresh greens and lights – invite you to enjoy traditional Christmas ornaments of all shapes and sizes, the local gold-foil angel, “Zwetschgenmännle” made of prunes, toys and games and delicious holiday treats to eat and drink. Day 6: Dresden

Dresden’s residents love their Striezelmarkt. Since 1434, the market has preserved its distinctive character despite a few changes. The world’s largest Erzgebirge step pyramid, which made its way into the Guinness Book of World Records in 1999, is 14.62 meters tall and can be seen far and wide. More than 2.5 million people visit the romantic Altmarkt Square every year. The market’s name comes from Stollen, the well-known Christmas bread, which is also known as "Striezel" in Middle High German. Every year, the traditional "Stollen festival" is celebrated in honor of this delicacy. Every year, the ceremonial first slice of the giant Stollen at the Striezelmarkt is followed by a Stollen procession through the Baroque Old Town. Today, visitors can expect a varied assortment of culinary delicacies and traditional products. The folk art of the Erzgebirge region is an essential feature – loving craftsmanship produces miniature pyramids, Räuchermänner ("smoking men") and other small figurines. Another symbol of Dresden is the "Pflaumentoffel". These good-luck charms, made of dried plums, represent the little boys who cleaned the chimneys. Opening times and hours: Nov 27 - Dec 24, 2016 (10:00 am-9:00 pm) except Dec 24th from (10 am-2:00 pm).

  • Kimberly M — September 15, 2017 — Europe

Fiona was fabulous and planned a dream vacation for us from start to finish. Our guides and tours were all very personable, knowledgeable, and comfortable. Our drivers were very punctual and professional. Our itinerary and tickets kept us knowing exactly where and when we needed to be somewhere. The weather, food and hotels were amazing. We truly had our dream vacation and now need a beach vacation to recuperate from the fast paced vacation we just returned from! Would recommend your agency to anyone! Thank You!

  • David B. — September 22, 2017 — Europe

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our trip! Thank you for the attention to detail and comprehensive planning!

  • Cleo M. — September 22, 2017 — Europe

Excellent guidance and assistance from Rachel Cook in your Delaware office and great guides/drivers. The hotel was nicely situated and everything went smoothly - we thank you! It was our first time on such a tour and we would like to try it again.

  • Suzanne A. — September 22, 2017 — Europe

We had an amazing experience with Kensington! I loved our specialist Garret. He was incredibly helpful! We also really loved our guide in Cape Town.

  • Kyran D — September 15, 2017 — Europe

Our tour expert Rachel Cooke was outstanding! She handled all inquiries and requests with great professionalism and patience. The location of our hotels were optimal for touring and easy access to trains and metro. Tour guides Marion for the Latin Quarter, Frederick the Louvre, Bruno Mont St Michel and Melanie for the beaches of Normandy were all very knowledgeable and delightful to be with!

  • Donna O — September 15, 2017 — Europe

Andrew was an amazing guide starting in Inverness! And Debbie was great for our walking tour in Edinburgh. We could not be happier! We learned so much about Scotland and enjoyed every minute of our trip.

  • Robert Goodby — August 14, 2017 — Europe

This was one of the best trips we've ever taken. Everything worked as planned, someone was always waiting to greet us at each transfer point, and the guides in Moscow and St. Petersburg were absolutely first-rate: knowledgeable, friendly, fluent in English, and very helpful. Our conversations with them about Russian life and history were an unexpected bonus to what was already a highly educational and informative itinerary.

  • Peter Stephanos — August 14, 2017 — Europe

Kensington was top notch. Our transfers were always on-time and courteous/professional. When there was a labor strike in Athens, they rescheduled our cancelled ferry and booked us on a flight. We had no idea until they called and said we had been booked on the flight. So helpful that we didn't ever have to stress!

  • Barbara Schulman — August 14, 2017 — Europe

We had an absolutely WONDERFUL trip; Everything was perfectly planned by Kensington; all drivers were professional and the city guides were excellent, educated in the history of their city and enjoyable to be with. Upon hearing that we were artists, one guide even changed her tour to include local artworks that we would not have known about , and we were thrilled. We have never had a tour planned personally for the 2 of us, and were delighted with the results. All contacts with our planner, Jason Susinski, were timely and professional. We will definitely travel with Kensington again.

  • Nancy Silvio — August 14, 2017 — Europe

This was my first experience with a totally guided tour. It was wonderful to not have to worry about anything, it was all well planned out. What we did see was wonderful, important and the guides were knowledgeable and kind. When we expressed interest in going bowling in Berlin he made sure we found the best place!! Anything was possible.
