Day 4: Belfast

Meet your private driver-guide and embark on a full day tour of the city of Belfast. Discover the old Cathedral Quarter near the waterfront, host of the beautiful St. Anne's Cathedral, dating back to 1899. The waterfront was the engine of the extraordinary wealth and industry that saw Belfast transformed from a small obscure village to a mighty city by the beginning of the 20th century. The RMS Titanic was designed and built in Belfast between 1909 and 1912, a remarkable feat of Edwardian engineering and craftsmanship. Despite her tragic sinking she remains a source of enduring pride in the city where she was built. In the city center, explore Donegal Place, one of Europe's finest squares, still home to many buildings from Belfast's glory days as the second city of the British Empire. See the late 19th century Grand Opera House, the beautiful white Belfast City Hall, along with the iconic mid-19th century Lanyon Building of the Queen's University, in all its red brick neo-Gothic beauty.  Check out the impressive bronze sculptures of CS Lewis Square, commemorating the local creator of the Chronicles of Narnia. Take in impressive views of the city as you visit the gardens of the historic Belfast Castle Estate, and even visit Belfast's Botanic Gardens, an important part of the city's Victorian heritage - boasting an array of exotic and tropical plant species. If you happen to be in town over the weekend, the historic St. George's Market (Fri-Sun) is worth a visit, where vendors have been coming together on the same site to sell there wares since 1604.

Fantastic tour that met all our special requests! Our anniversary celebration was perfect! Our grandchildren made so many memories from playing in the fields of the farm to sailing through the fjords and eating desserts at all the bakeries! A marvellous intergenerational experience!

Thank you to Daniel for making our family’s trip to Greece so enjoyable and memorable. We asked him for an “Instagram” worthy trip, and he delivered! The hotels on the islands were stunning, and our private tour guides at each stop easily accommodated our individual wishes. Our trip was the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration.

  • Elizabeth B — July 20, 2019 — Europe

I cannot tell you how impressed we were with your services. Everything from the drivers to the hotels to guides was five stars! We never had to wait in line and were treated like royalty. I highly recommend the private boat ride/tour to Capri. It was fabulous! We had never been to Italy and left feeling like we learned so much. We fell in love with the people and culture. We cannot wait to have Kensington book our next adventure.

  • Kimberly E — July 14, 2019 — Europe

It was the first time we have used a company of this nature to manage our bookings. Most often I book my rooms, and tours, but after this experience, I would definetely use Kensington again for a trip of this type. Our Destination truly supported us and allowed us to make changes until the plan was just perfect for us. This truly showed when we were in country and everthing went off perfectly. I was worried to have other book items on my families behalf seeing as we were traveling with kids (age 8 and 10), but I feel our destination Expert did take that into account and it was perfect.

There is so much to say about this amazing family trip to northern Spain we just came home from, but in short, the trip was even more than we could have hoped for - From the planning to the tour guides, drivers and accommodations our needs were met and in most cases surpassed. There is no way the trip could have been as successful without the help of Maryanne from Kensington Tours and her team.

  • Sara L — June 29, 2019 — Europe

Our Iceland trip was fantastic. From planning with Melissa (many times over until we had it right) to being greeted in Iceland and all of the wonderful tours we took, we had a fabulous time. Our guide, Sigga, was excellent. She guided us, told us tales of Iceland, was extremely accommodating with my elderly mom. We enjoyed being with her very much. Inke, our guide to the glacier, was also wonderful. We had a great time and felt Kensington did a fabulous job. Thanks!

  • Dawn K — July 18, 2019 — Europe

The trip overall was amazing and all the activities and travel plans went so very smoothly. Our whole familiy really enjoyed every day of the trip. Patrick McCallion, the expert from your agency who helped us, was awesome! He not only set up everything perfectly for us but helped us with reservations for dinners at fine dining places and answered many questions we had in advance. We did leave our glasses in the van at one point in Barcelona and had to contact the local agent who quickly retrieved the glasses for us without any problem. We highly recommend this agency given the quality of the experience, the smoothness of the itinerary, and the flexibility to tailored the experience to our needs. Thank

This was our 6th Kensington tour. We have gone as a couple on trips and taken our children sometimes to destinations all over the world. We have never been disappointed and have had the most personal and professional service. We would not even consider using anyone else. Thank you Alania for everything! Our most recent trip to Russia and Scandinavia was fabulous and perfectly planned!
