Famous for its exquisite architecture, storied history, and world-class food, it’s easy to forget that Italy is also one of the most beautiful countries on an already beautiful continent. You won’t have time to forget on this adventurous, action-oriented itinerary that unites Italy’s great cities with it utterly breathtaking outdoors.

We begin in Rome where, after taking a moment to settle in, you’ll get introduced to the city’s landmarks courtesy of a private nighttime walking tour from Trevi Fountain to Piazza Navona with a stop at the Pantheon along the way. Later, experience the Italian capital like the locals do on a private Vespa tour (you ride, your guide drives), then step out on your own to hunt for treasures on a self-guided shopping tour of Rome’s upmarket boutiques. Your last day in Rome is a memorable one, featuring a tour of the Vatican Museum, Trevi Fountain, the historic Forum, the mighty Colosseum, and other must-see sights with the help of a private guide and driver. From Rome, the tour moves south to Sorrento with a pause near Naples for an encounter with Pompeii, the ancient Roman city forever entombed in volcanic ash since the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. From Sorrento, hike the Amalfi Coast’s fabled Path of the Gods – home to some of the most awe-inspiring panoramas on Earth – in the company of a private guide before devoting an entire day to discovering the scenic delights of the island of Capri on your own. Later in Florence, walk the streets of the cradle of the Renaissance with a private guide en route to an appointment with “David,” Michelangelo’s marble masterpiece, at the Galleria dell’Accademia before exploring the gorgeous Tuscan countryside for two full days, first from the saddle on a horseback tour of the region’s famed vineyards (with tastings, of course), then from the seat of a bicycle as you pedal your way around the Mugello Valley with a private guide. Last stop: Venice, the canalled empire of the old masters. Here, you’ll discover world-famous sights like the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs on a private walking tour, then learn to row like a true Venetian gondolier from a private instructor that will connect you to the city’s romantic waterways in a way you’ll never forget. ... Day 1: Rome

Meet your private English-speaking assistant outside of airport customs. Waiting with a sign with your name on it, they will direct you to your awaiting private transfer, and accompany you to your hotel for check-in.

A welcome package with a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip.

Meet your guide at the hotel lobby for a two-hour private evening walking tour of Rome. You will be transferred from the hotel to Trevi Fountain, and from here, the entire tour will be done on foot. From Trevi walk to the Pantheon and end the tour with the amazing Piazza Navona. Return transfer to the hotel from Piazza Navona.

Day 2: Rome

Meet your private driver to be transferred where your Vespa will be waiting for you with one driver per Vespa. You will be given a helmet and a sort of bandana (at the end of the tour it can be thrown away) made of extremely light material (just to cover the head under the helmet and keep it clean). Each Vespa is for one guest and each of them will have a driver. You will also be given a head set in order to listen to the guide’s explanation during the tour. This is a fantastic experience as the Vespa`s are allowed to drive anywhere and it’s the only way to discover the hidden corners of the City. At the end of your tour, your driver will transfer you back to your hotel.

Rome is a great place for shopping. There are five main shopping areas: Spanish Steps & Via dei Condotti - This street is one of the richest streets in Italy and one of the best streets for shopping in Rome. The Via Dei Condotti is home to Italy's top designer stores. Via Del Corso – This busy pedestrian street runs from Piazza del Popolo down to Piazza Venezia. It is home to the famous shops like the Ferrari flagship store and Swarowski Crystal. Trastevere – This rather bohemian area of the city with its many winding streets is great for shopping and getting lost in. Be sure to check out the outdoor food market in Piazza San Cosimato where locals bargain with the vendors (7am -2pm).  Viale Marconi and Porta Portese- Viale Marconi is very good for shopping and is particularly popular with young trendy Romans. A bit out from the city center, it can be reached by talking the Metro Line B to Marconi. It is about 15 minutes away from the Colosseum. Porta Portese is the famous Roman flea market which takes place every Sunday from 8am until about 2pm. Another place of interest for food and market lovers is the Piazza Vittorio where a mesmerizing array of fresh foods, fruits, fish and meat, run by people from all over the world is displayed. Piazza Navona & via del Governo Vecchio – The well-known Piazza Navona is a great place for art lovers, as the surrounding streets contain lots of art galleries and antique shops.

Day 3: Rome

Meet your private guide and driver at the hotel to head to the Vatican City, the smallest state in the world. Visit the Vatican Museum and the 15th century Sistine Chapel and view paintings by great artistic masters. Dominating the chapel is Michelangelo's ceiling painting of the "Creation of the World." Leaving Vatican City, you will visit the famous Trevi Fountain. A short time is allocated at leisure for photographs and you will then enjoy an impressive drive through Rome. Places of interest to be seen may include the Borghese Park, the Janiculum Hill, Castle Sant'Angelo and Circus Maximus. Day 4: Rome - Naples - Sorrento

Meet your private driver and vehicle for a train station transfer.

Depart by train from Rome to Naples. Approximate travel time is 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Meet your private driver for a transfer to Sorrento. En route, you'll stop at the legendary site of Pompeii, where a private local guide will take you on a 2-hour visit of this important historic site. Nearly 2,000 years ago, Pompeii was completely destroyed in the catastrophic 79 A.D. eruption of Mount Vesuvius, leaving the ancient Roman city buried under 15 to 20 feet of volcanic ash, and preserved therein. Modern archaeologists have since uncovered the remains of the former city, leaving an incredibly vast, and somewhat somber site to explore. Walk through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii where you can see the baths, forums and villas built by the prosperous Romans over 150 years before the eruption. Marvel at the fabulously preserved fresco paintings which adorn the walls and floors of the villas. See the ancient amphitheaters, gladiator barracks, and houses of former Pompeii residents, before continuing on your drive to Sorrento.

Day 6: Sorrento

Today, why not explore the beautiful isle of Capri?

Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Cape Miseno and Amalfi, a great rock soars like a dream, lost in the cobalt blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel is the island of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers, delicate splashes of colour, recollections of a millennial past and a peaceful charm, shattered only by the shrill cry of seagulls, are just some of the magical qualities of this mythical isle.

It is very easy to catch a hydrofoil (type of boat) from the pier in Sorrento, taking 20-25 minutes. On arrival, Capri Town can also be reached via a short ride on the Funicular (train) from the Port area.

Revel in the breathtaking views upon Mont Solaro - the highest place on the island (589 metres above sea level). You have the choice of either walking there, by taking the narrow street at the beginning of Viale Axel Munthe, or by taking the chairlift. Should you wish to relax and enjoy the splendid view of Anacapri and the gulf of Naples, the chairlift is a great option. The chairlift station can be accessed near Piazza Vittoria.

Take a 1 hour walk to view one of the most beautiful walks on the island. Admire the lonely Church of S.Maria in Cetrella. Alternatively, it is a 12 minute chairlift ride from Piazza Vittoria. While in Anacapri, consider visiting the villa San Michele, located on the north-eastern side of 'Anacapri, 327 metres above sea level. This is where an ancient Roman imperial villa was, whose ruins were preserved by Axel Munthe. They are now to be found in the garden.

Note: Hydrofoil costs approximately 12 Euros per person. A ticket needs to be purchased at the ticket office before boarding the Funicular.
