Discover a trio of Italy’s most enchanting cities on a stylish journey that lets you walk in the footsteps of gladiators, drift leisurely down Venice’s canals, marvel at stunning works of art, and revel in the pastoral pleasures of the countryside. Rome, Florence, and Venice (with a dash of Tuscany on the side) are among Europe’s greatest treasures, and we’ve got the key that unlocks them, just for you.

Our story starts in Rome, the ageless Italian capital, with a privately guided walking tour that captures the spirit of the modern city and its ancient past through stops at beloved landmarks like the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Bernini’s beautiful Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, and the Spanish Steps (with refreshments of coffee and gelato along the way, of course). Next, delve deep into the city’s impeccable art and architecture on a private tour, beginning with the Vatican’s St. Peter's Basilica and Michelangelo’s impossibly beautiful Sistine Chapel before moving on to the massive Colosseum, pausing to grab snapshots of must-see sights like Villa Borghese, the ruins of Circus Maximus, the Roman Forum, and others. After arriving in Florence by train and settling into your hotel, take a stroll through the Renaissance’s elegant birthplace on a private walking tour that passes the iconic Ponte Vecchio bridge, charming Piazza della Signoria, and stunning Cathedral Square before slipping inside the majestic Galleria dell’Accademia to meet Michelangelo’s David. Later, join a small group and head out into the countryside to soak up the splendor of Siena, San Gimignano, and Chianti on a tour that connects you with the region’s medieval villages, exquisite food, and gorgeous Tuscan landscapes. The adventure comes to an end in Venice, one of the world’s most romantic cities, where you’ll embark on a private half-day sightseeing-and-snacking tour through narrow, twisting streets before boarding a private gondola for a relaxing twilight cruise through the canals. But before you bid addio to Italy, spend some time on the islands of Murano and Burano to learn the secrets of glass blowing and lacework at private tours of workshops that have trained skilled artisans for generations. ... Driving through rolling hills, you'll first arrive to the UNESCO-listed town of Siena, a splendid medieval city where you can marvel at the Piazza del Campo; one of Europe's most stunning medieval squares. Dominating the fan-shaped square are the 13th century City Hall, Palazzo Pubblico, and the skyline-topping Torre del Mangia, a 330-foot bell tower dating back to 14th century Siena. Admire vineyards and olive groves as you continue into the heart of the Chianti territory as you make your way to the ancient fortified village of Monteriggioni. Enjoy a walk along the wall's perimeter and discover a beautiful corner of Tuscany suspended in the Middle Ages. A short distance away, you'll be treated to a typical Chianti lunch and a guided tasting of fine Chianti and Vernaccia wines, all in the setting of a pleasant country estate. Continue to San Gimignano, magnificently situated on top of a hill. The UNESCO-listed old town of San Gimignano is famous for its 13th century walls, and skyline of medieval towers. Day 6: Florence - Venice

Meet your private driver and vehicle for a train station transfer.

Depart by train from Florence to Venice. Approximate travel time is 2 hours.

For your ease and comfort, a private English-speaking assistant will meet you on the arrivals platform, holding a sign with your name on it. They will locate your awaiting private water taxi, and accompany you to your hotel for check-in.

Meet your private guide in the hotel lobby and set out on foot for a 2-hour walking tour to discover the highlights of Venice. Head to St Mark's Square, the heart of political and religious power of the Venetian Republic for centuries. Here you can spot the grand 11th century church of St Mark’s Basilica, nicknamed the Church of Gold for its sheer opulence and position as a status symbol of Venetian wealth. Adjacent is St Mark’s Campanile, the imposing 12th century bell tower, standing at 323 feet tall. Visually dominating the entire northern stretch of the square are the arcaded Procuratie Vecchie buildings, in classical and Gothic style. Just off the square, and lining the Grand Canal, admire the Gothic style exterior of the 13th century Doge’s Palace, former residence to the supreme ruler of the Venetian Republic of antiquity. Learn of its adjoining former prison, connected to the Palace by the Bridge of Sighs, which retains the true secrets of how a city built on swamps became one of the most enlightened cities in the western world. You'll hear tales of illustrious Venetian characters like Marco Polo and Casanova, continuing along to the lively Campo Santa Maria Formosa with its outstanding Venetian palaces, and the Church of San Giovanni e Paolo (considered the Pantheon of Venice). Your walking tour concludes at the evocative Rialto Bridge overlooking the Grand Canal. From here, you may continue with independent exploration or return to your hotel.

This evening, sit back, relax and admire the views during an exciting, traditional Venetian Gondola ride. For your added comfort, an English-speaking escort will pick you up from your hotel and walk you to your awaiting private gondola. After boarding your gondola, your fully licensed Gondolier will navigate your vessel through the narrow canals and beneath the many stone bridges of Venice during a serene, half-hour gondola ride. Gently guide on this traditional means of aquatic travel along the Venetian Grand Canal, passing the many landmarks and sites that have made Venice a global tourist hub, including the 16th century Rialto Bridge, and the stunning Ca' d'Oro mansion with its arched Gothic exterior. A quintessential Venetian experience!

Fantastic tour that met all our special requests! Our anniversary celebration was perfect! Our grandchildren made so many memories from playing in the fields of the farm to sailing through the fjords and eating desserts at all the bakeries! A marvellous intergenerational experience!

  • Julie S — July 05, 2019 — Europe

Thank you to Daniel for making our family’s trip to Greece so enjoyable and memorable. We asked him for an “Instagram” worthy trip, and he delivered! The hotels on the islands were stunning, and our private tour guides at each stop easily accommodated our individual wishes. Our trip was the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration.

  • Elizabeth B — July 20, 2019 — Europe

I cannot tell you how impressed we were with your services. Everything from the drivers to the hotels to guides was five stars! We never had to wait in line and were treated like royalty. I highly recommend the private boat ride/tour to Capri. It was fabulous! We had never been to Italy and left feeling like we learned so much. We fell in love with the people and culture. We cannot wait to have Kensington book our next adventure.

  • Kimberly E — July 14, 2019 — Europe

It was the first time we have used a company of this nature to manage our bookings. Most often I book my rooms, and tours, but after this experience, I would definetely use Kensington again for a trip of this type. Our Destination truly supported us and allowed us to make changes until the plan was just perfect for us. This truly showed when we were in country and everthing went off perfectly. I was worried to have other book items on my families behalf seeing as we were traveling with kids (age 8 and 10), but I feel our destination Expert did take that into account and it was perfect.

There is so much to say about this amazing family trip to northern Spain we just came home from, but in short, the trip was even more than we could have hoped for - From the planning to the tour guides, drivers and accommodations our needs were met and in most cases surpassed. There is no way the trip could have been as successful without the help of Maryanne from Kensington Tours and her team.

  • Sara L — June 29, 2019 — Europe

Our Iceland trip was fantastic. From planning with Melissa (many times over until we had it right) to being greeted in Iceland and all of the wonderful tours we took, we had a fabulous time. Our guide, Sigga, was excellent. She guided us, told us tales of Iceland, was extremely accommodating with my elderly mom. We enjoyed being with her very much. Inke, our guide to the glacier, was also wonderful. We had a great time and felt Kensington did a fabulous job. Thanks!

  • Dawn K — July 18, 2019 — Europe

The trip overall was amazing and all the activities and travel plans went so very smoothly. Our whole familiy really enjoyed every day of the trip. Patrick McCallion, the expert from your agency who helped us, was awesome! He not only set up everything perfectly for us but helped us with reservations for dinners at fine dining places and answered many questions we had in advance. We did leave our glasses in the van at one point in Barcelona and had to contact the local agent who quickly retrieved the glasses for us without any problem. We highly recommend this agency given the quality of the experience, the smoothness of the itinerary, and the flexibility to tailored the experience to our needs. Thank

This was our 6th Kensington tour. We have gone as a couple on trips and taken our children sometimes to destinations all over the world. We have never been disappointed and have had the most personal and professional service. We would not even consider using anyone else. Thank you Alania for everything! Our most recent trip to Russia and Scandinavia was fabulous and perfectly planned!
