Day 1: Warsaw

A welcome package with  a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip.

A private airport transfer to your hotel with vehicle and driver is provided. Your driver will be waiting for you in front of the Europcar  located in the public area of the Arrivals Hall level, in between the Old and the New terminal. For your added comfort, an English speaking assistant will help you to check in and walk you through the welcome package documents, your itinerary and answer your questions.

Classical Szustra Palace was built in place of the destroyed mansion, for the Marshal Princess Izabela Lubomirska – for this reason, the building is also known as Lubomirski Palace. The property was called Mon coteau ("my hill"). The original buildings and garden have not survived to this day because of the destruction during World War II. The palace and park were reconstructed in the 20th century and now it belongs to the Warsaw Music Society. In these historic interiors, you will enjoy 1-hour private concert performed by renowned artists and 1 glass of sparkling wine. They will present a diverse, attractive program, including the most characteristic musical works of Frederic Chopin.

Day 2: Warsaw

Enjoy a private tour of Polish Communism History in the company of a local guide with private transportation. After the Second World War, Warsaw began rebuilding according to socialist realism. It had to be an example of a model city representing their spirit. You will be taken in socialist-style car for a unique trip through the legacy of the Polish socialism. The tour starts from the Constitution Square which was a model residential area for the working class. Next, you will see the Ministry of Agriculture, where you will have a chance to get to know the utopian plans of the post war city reconstruction, Palace of Culture and Science – the symbol of the city as well as the symbol of communism in Poland and the famous blocks of flats from the 60's at Iron Gate Square. The tour will end with a typical Polish aperitif.

Enjoy a private, guided tour of the Summer Palace and Park. The palace was the former residence of King Jan III Sobieski, is often called "Little Versailles". Its magnificent interiors include furniture and china from the period of Sobieski's victory over the Turks at the gates of Vienna in the 17th century. The grounds consist of English park, and Italian Baroque garden and rose garden. Entrance fee is included.

The originally Gothic, now extended church contains the miraculous painting "The Black Madonna", Poland’s most precious relic. The painting is decorated with diamond and ruby dresses, and has a silver curtain from 1673 which is raised to the sound of a fanfare during church ceremonies. The Jasna Gora treasury includes a magnificent collection of goldsmith treasures and the most valuable national mementoes. The monastery's defensive walls, bastions and moat were added in 1430. After the tour with the local monastery guide, you will continue on to Krakow.

Day 4: Krakow

Krakow, a beautiful medieval city, draws its identity from its diverse multicultural heritage. Associated with the late Pope John Paul II, the city also notably hosts a Jewish music festival, and boasts a large student population, making it a vibrant city all year round. With your private guide and driver, start your visit at the Market Square, one of the biggest in Europe and a reminder of the power and wealth of medieval Krakow. Explore the 13th-century Cloth Hall, rebuilt in Renaissance style, home to an impressive collection of Polish paintings and handicrafts. Next, visit Saint Mary's Basilica, dating to 1221 and boasting a 15th-century precious altar. Continue to Collegium Maius with its well-preserved Gothic arcades, expanded in Renaissance style, and was home to Jagiellonian University, the second oldest university in Central Europe. Visit the National Museum, home to a collection of Da Vinci paintings and other notable European artists. Continue to Wawel Hill to visit Wawel Castle (entrance fee included), a Gothic Royal Castle built on the remains of a 10th-century settlement. The magnificent Renaissance interiors contain numerous paintings, furniture, and national memorabilia. The collection of famous "Wawel Tapestries" designed and made in Flandre, especially for Wawel interiors, is truly unique. The famous Sigismund Chapel with its gold-plated dome is one of them. Inside the cathedral, there is also a necropolis of Polish Kings, Dukes and noble citizens buried in numerous crypts, sarcophaguses, tombs, and chapels. Conclude the tour with a relaxing walk down along the river to a limestone cave. The cave is reputed to be the home of a legendary dragon.

A walk down the river concludes the tour, and leads to a limestone cave, shelter of a legendary dragon. Entrance fee for Wawel Castle is included.

All over the world, Auschwitz has become a symbol of terror, genocide, and the Holocaust. Auschwitz was designed as the venue of the "final solution of the Jewish question in Europe". From spring 1942 until the fall of 1944, transport trains delivered Jews to the camp's gas chambers from all over Nazi-occupied Europe. It was the largest Nazi extermination camp, and site of the biggest genocide. The area is well preserved and nowadays it houses the Holocaust Museum, listed as being UNESCO Heritage site. The tour will include a visit to the brick-mortar barracks in Auschwitz I, and the extensive area of the large wooden extermination camp at Auschwitz II – Birkenau. Entrance fee is included.

Please note, your guide will provide private transfer and explanations about the history prior to entering the site. Due to local regulation, in Auschwitz -Birkenau you will be joining a shared group tour led by an Auschwitz guide.

Fantastic tour that met all our special requests! Our anniversary celebration was perfect! Our grandchildren made so many memories from playing in the fields of the farm to sailing through the fjords and eating desserts at all the bakeries! A marvellous intergenerational experience!

  • Julie S — July 05, 2019 — Europe

Thank you to Daniel for making our family’s trip to Greece so enjoyable and memorable. We asked him for an “Instagram” worthy trip, and he delivered! The hotels on the islands were stunning, and our private tour guides at each stop easily accommodated our individual wishes. Our trip was the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration.

  • Elizabeth B — July 20, 2019 — Europe

I cannot tell you how impressed we were with your services. Everything from the drivers to the hotels to guides was five stars! We never had to wait in line and were treated like royalty. I highly recommend the private boat ride/tour to Capri. It was fabulous! We had never been to Italy and left feeling like we learned so much. We fell in love with the people and culture. We cannot wait to have Kensington book our next adventure.

  • Kimberly E — July 14, 2019 — Europe

It was the first time we have used a company of this nature to manage our bookings. Most often I book my rooms, and tours, but after this experience, I would definetely use Kensington again for a trip of this type. Our Destination truly supported us and allowed us to make changes until the plan was just perfect for us. This truly showed when we were in country and everthing went off perfectly. I was worried to have other book items on my families behalf seeing as we were traveling with kids (age 8 and 10), but I feel our destination Expert did take that into account and it was perfect.

There is so much to say about this amazing family trip to northern Spain we just came home from, but in short, the trip was even more than we could have hoped for - From the planning to the tour guides, drivers and accommodations our needs were met and in most cases surpassed. There is no way the trip could have been as successful without the help of Maryanne from Kensington Tours and her team.

  • Sara L — June 29, 2019 — Europe

Our Iceland trip was fantastic. From planning with Melissa (many times over until we had it right) to being greeted in Iceland and all of the wonderful tours we took, we had a fabulous time. Our guide, Sigga, was excellent. She guided us, told us tales of Iceland, was extremely accommodating with my elderly mom. We enjoyed being with her very much. Inke, our guide to the glacier, was also wonderful. We had a great time and felt Kensington did a fabulous job. Thanks!

  • Dawn K — July 18, 2019 — Europe

The trip overall was amazing and all the activities and travel plans went so very smoothly. Our whole familiy really enjoyed every day of the trip. Patrick McCallion, the expert from your agency who helped us, was awesome! He not only set up everything perfectly for us but helped us with reservations for dinners at fine dining places and answered many questions we had in advance. We did leave our glasses in the van at one point in Barcelona and had to contact the local agent who quickly retrieved the glasses for us without any problem. We highly recommend this agency given the quality of the experience, the smoothness of the itinerary, and the flexibility to tailored the experience to our needs. Thank

This was our 6th Kensington tour. We have gone as a couple on trips and taken our children sometimes to destinations all over the world. We have never been disappointed and have had the most personal and professional service. We would not even consider using anyone else. Thank you Alania for everything! Our most recent trip to Russia and Scandinavia was fabulous and perfectly planned!
