Brazil is not known for subtlety: Its myriad charms confront the visitor — its gorgeous beaches, thumping street parties, the vibrant hum that permeates every aspect of daily life, no matter how mundane. And nowhere is the country’s outsized personality more evident than in its big cities: Rio throbs to the beat of a never-ending party; São Paulo gleams with skyscrapers befitting the continent’s largest metropolis, and Paraty’s colonial center exudes a quiet elegance. But Brazil is big beyond the city limits, too. Out there, you’ll find towering waterfalls, exotic wildlife, and nature as raw as you’ll find on Earth. Introduce yourself to Brazil and prepare to broaden your definition of “stupendous.”

This tour packs as much Brazil as is humanly possible into a rich, well-balanced experience that never feels rushed. In dazzling Rio, star of a million postcards, you’ll discover the bohemian Lapa district at night with a private guide and take to the skies on a private helicopter tour over the stunning Sugar Loaf mountain that dominates the skyline. Later, walk the charming colonial streets of Paraty with your own guide, cruise its islands by schooner, study the intersection of flavor and culture in Brazilian cuisine with a master chef, and explore the dazzling waterfalls of Serra da Bocaina National Park on a private jeep tour. Finally, learn how Brazil came to be on an enlightening visit to São Paulo’s Museu Afro Brasil before getting a good look at awe-inspiring Iguaçú Falls from both sides of the Brazil-Argentina border. The only way to get a more complete appreciation for Brazil would be to live here full-time. ... Show More »
