Valencia delivers the richness of Spain’s Mediterranean lifestyle at a more approachable price point than Barcelona. The city offers tons of family-friendly activities and is very mobility-friendly, as Valencia is mostly flat and has over 250 km of dedicated bike paths.  

Ultimately, Valencia reflects a broader shift in travel. “Travelers are gravitating toward destinations like this because they want meaningful, immersive experiences without the crowds or commercialization,” says Jessica.

Sardinia: Italy’s Enchanting Island  

Italy has long been synonymous with romance, but in Sardinia, that romance feels more intimate, more authentic, and less polished.

Slovenia itself is a hidden gem, with over 70% of its landscape covered in lush green space. Just beyond Ljubljana, destinations like Lake Bled and Bohinj offer alpine beauty without the crowds. 

For food and wine enthusiasts, Slovenia holds a surprise: a world-class dining scene rooted in its unique geography and heritage. “It’s a true culinary hidden gem,” says Jamie, pointing to innovative chefs like Ana Roš and locally sourced ingredients that reflect the country’s rich cultural blend.
