Head off to the wine country via the N2 to the heart of South Africa's wine industry, Stellenbosch, boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. En-route you stop at Spier Wine Estate where you’ll visit the wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, education and eco-tourism center at Eagle Encounters. Get up close and personal with the ambassador species at the center and learn more about the world of raptors. You then head to the village of Stellenbosch and walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, you are truly spoilt for choice when you enjoy your first wine tasting of the day at the Waterford Estate or similar.

Travel over the Helshoogte Pass to the town of Franschhoek, historically dating back to the 17th century when the French Huguenots arrived.  Billed as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, this charming town, in a most picturesque valley, retains a French Huguenot style. You will enjoy a wine tasting before taking time to enjoy the fabled culinary skills of the Franschhoek chefs at one of the many award winning restaurants (lunch not included in cost). Day 6: Sabi Sands

Before first light, gear up and head out to further explore Sabi Sands. Sunrise and sunset are when the animals are most active; in particular, herds of elephants roam the expanses of the Sabi in the morning hours as the glow of dawn radiates. Although the largest living mammal is well-known to most, there is nothing quite like seeing a herd of up to a hundred elephants freely wandering through the open plains; it is sight few people will get to enjoy and that none will forget. After a few hours out in the reserve you will be returned to your lodge for breakfast to enjoy a satisfying and well-earned breakfast.

With the afternoon in full-swing, it is time to head out on an open 4x4 vehicle for another afternoon of game viewing. With the sweltering sun on the decline, nocturnal animals begin their nightly routines. Along well-marked roads or entirely off the beaten path, your tracker will bring you into the heart of the Sabi in search of both predator and prey. On the trail of the king of jungle, perhaps you will be fortunate enough to witness a pride on the hunt. Sit back and relax, always with a hand ready for to snap photos of your favorite animals, as you explore the land for a few hours before returning to camp to freshen up ahead of another incredible dinner.

Who knows what rare animals you will spot today as you explore the Sabi reserve ahead of another exceptional breakfast?

Following lunch, venture back into the bush. Both the rare Black (hook-lipped) and White (square-lipped) rhinos wander the reserve and the afternoon is fantastic time to spot these powerful, beautiful and endangered creatures. If you are lucky enough, you may spot a crash of rhinos grazing as the sun dips below the horizon. After a few hours, you will return to the lodge to refresh before a freshly-prepared dinner.

  • Robert M — August 22, 2017 — Africa

It was simply an amazing trip! Our guide and driver were the best. Everything went smoothly and they made life very easy for us. I would not hesitate to recommend Kensington to anyone. Hotels were unique and exceeded expectations. Thank you for the significant room upgrade at the 4 Seasons on our last night. That was a huge surprise!

  • Mike Desmarais — July 20, 2017 — Africa

Went on a tour in Morocco with Kensington tours. We visited the cities of Casablanca, Tangier & Chefchaouen and had a wonderful time. Our guide (Mohammed Salmi) and driver (Eunice) were absolutely excellent and very professional. Mohammed was very knowledgeable regarding the cities and places we visited. Mohammed spoke very good English and was easy to talk with and a pleasure to be with for the 6 days we were in Morocco. We could not have asked for a better guide and/or driver during our time in Morocco. Our vehicle was a newer model Mercedes van that was very comfortable to be in for the long drives we had between cities, and our hotels were much better than expected.

  • Misty N — August 22, 2017 — Africa

This was our 4th Kensington Trip (second to South Africa), I cannot say enough about Andrew Drummond and his ability to put a PERFECT trip together. I trust him completely and would plan trips with him over and over. Now looking at a trip to Peru and yes, we are talking to a professional at Kensington.

  • David S — September 08, 2017 — Africa

This tour exceeded our expectations in all respects! Only words cannot describe the adventure.

  • Barbara Cox — August 03, 2017 — Africa

Christine did a fabulous job planning our safari. We followed the migration from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara staying in an assortment of tented camps. We loved ALL our guides and drivers (Duncan, Waziri and Charles).

I would definitely recommend Kensington Tours. Very well pleased with everything they provided. Accommodations were excellent as well as tour guides. Gareth at Kensington was a tremendous help in planning our trip. Thank you so much Kensington for a great trip to South Africa.

Both our guides from Rwanda to Tanzania were the best. Everything was FLAWLESS, the guides, transportation, the accommodations, the food, the safaris, etc. We actually went to the villagers home and met the kids who performed their native dance for us. It really was an emotional connection that was one of the highlights of the whole trip for us. Thanks so much for putting this all together for us!

Our Kensington Tour to Tanzania was excellent. All of our accommodations were top-notch, our flights were fantastic, and every single detail was taken care of. We were extremely impressed with how welcoming and knowledgeable our guides were.
