Take a walk along the Coastal Trail, which offers stunning views of the sparkling waters and majestic mountains that surround the city. This picturesque pathway is perfect for both a relaxing stroll and an opportunity to spot local wildlife. Delve into Alaska's rich heritage at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Opt to expand your knowledge at the Anchorage Museum, where art, history, and culture converge, or the Museum of Science and Nature, a place where curiosity knows no bounds. The day is yours in Anchorage, a city that seamlessly blends the wonders of nature with the richness of its cultural heritage.

Lose Yourself in Nature
Explore the scenic Seward Highway accompanied by your private driver-guide in a full-day exploration of the Turnagain Arm waterway. After meeting at your Anchorage hotel, your knowledgeable local driver-guide will whisk you away along one of only 13 highways in the US with the unique distinction of "All American Road". Along the way you'll enjoy great opportunities to view and photograph diverse wildlife and stunning scenic vistas. You'll first stop at the ski town of Girdwood to ride a scenic tram that travels to the top of Mt Alyeska. Next stop is Portage, where you can board the MV Ptarmigan for a one-hour cruise across the stunning scenery of iceberg-dotted Portage Lake. After the cruise, stop in at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska's wildlife. The AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round, providing spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Here you can experience an up-close encounter with some of the state's most iconic inhabitants, providing great photo opportunities. Although the animals at the AWCC are unable to be released back into the wild, they are rehabilitated and cared for by a team of dedicated staff. Your tour concludes with a private transfer back to Anchorage.
Downtown Anchorage offers a vibrant mix of dining, drinking, and cafÉ culture that reflects the city’s lively spirit. For an elevated dinner, the Crow’s Nest provides refined cuisine with panoramic views, while Simon & Seafort’s serves classic Alaskan seafood in a welcoming setting. Glacier Brewhouse combines hearty meals with house-brewed beers in a relaxed atmosphere, and Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria offers creative pizzas and craft brews just outside the core downtown area. Cross an Item off the Bucket List
Wave goodbye to Anchorage as you transfer to Talkeetna with your private driver-guide. En-route, embark on an epic dog sled adventure that whisks you right into the heart of Anchorage splendor. Along with a small group of other travelers, take a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. Keep alert for potential sightings of moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats as you soar above the mountains. Land on a snow field high on a glacier and enjoy some time with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dog sled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or relax on the sled as the mushers run the team. After your dogsled run, meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over 1,000 miles long, and interact with the puppies. Return to your helicopter to fly over the lower glaciers where and see the blue melt pools and the crevasses. The day concludes with a transfer to your Talkeetna hotel.
Evenings at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge beckon you outdoors and skyward. After dinner, head to the viewing deck or lodge lawn to take in the panoramic panorama of the Alaska Range and, when the skies are clear, the majestic peak of Denali rising above the horizon, framed by fading daylight and the first stars of the night. Weather permitting, stay out as the sun dips and the sky deepens to reveal a blanket of stars overhead, making stargazing a peaceful highlight of your night.
