A Dazzling Drive
After check-out, join your private vehicle and guide for a full-day transfer to Budapest, Hungary, visiting the UNESCO-listed Pannonhalma Archabbey en route. You'll arrive to the hilltop Benedictine monastery after approximately 2 hours, where an English audio-guide will provide insight into the 1,000-year history of the monastery, and the monks who live there. After visiting the monastery, join a shared visit of Pannonhalma Archabbey's winery, set in Hungary's smallest winegrowing region. Since late Roman times, monastic life has been closely connected with grapes and winemaking. After the fall of communism in 1989, a revival of monastic viticultural tradition began in Hungary with the planting of new grapevines and re-purchasing some of the former properties of the Archabbey, with winery reopening to visitors. Learn of the wine-making process and traditions, while being treated to a tasting of 3 wines produced on site, followed by a 3-course fixed menu lunch (beverages during lunch are payable on the spot). Rejoin your driver for the remaining 1.5 hours of your transfer to your hotel in Budapest.
A Welcome Package with a copy of your itinerary, tickets (if relevant), and any other information that we deem you may find useful, will be provided to you in destination.
With so many options to choose from, trying to decide on a restaurant during the course of your day can be an unnecessary distraction.
