Explore with an Expert
Depart from the illustrious Plaza de Mayo, where you will visit the Pink House, truly the President’s office (he works but doesn’t live there); the Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral. You will then head for San Telmo, once the residential district chosen by the primitive Buenos Aires aristocracy, where you will visit San Telmo’s lovely cobbled streets, stopping by Plaza Dorrego, one of the most traditional spots. On weekends, an antique fair takes place in this square, where you can purchase anything from art and antiques to old magazines and records. The next stop is at Avenida de Mayo, a Paris-inspired boulevard that opened to the public in 1894.
The port district of La Boca is one of the city’s most characteristic spots. In La Boca, stop by the mythical Caminito Street, an outdoors museum dedicated to tango and soccer. Leaving La Boca behind, pay a visit to Puerto Madero, a rather contrasting port district. Puerto Madero is nowadays Buenos Aires’ most modern and sophisticated area, and the spearhead of an urban renovation project started in 1991 with the revamping of a series of huge warehouses and silos.
Next, head for Retiro, where you will observe the splendid Plaza San Martin, and once in Recoleta, visit Avenida Alvear, where one can find the top designer houses in the world. In Plaza Francia, visit the Colonial BasÍlica de Nuestra SeÑora del Pilar, the second oldest in town. Next to it we find the celebrated Recoleta Cemetery, where many of the greatest personalities in Argentine history are buried, Eva PerÓn included. Finally, head for Palermo, one of the city’s most proteic neighborhoods. There, first visit Palermo Chico, similar in its spirit to Recoleta. Then visit Belgrano, one of the loveliest residential neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. There, you will see the Barrancas de Belgrano, a beautiful, lush park built on a series of slopes, the exotic Barrio Chino (Chinatown), which is located a few blocks away, and the Parroquia de la Inmaculada ConcepciÓn, popularly known as “the round church” because of its Renaissance-style shape. Ending your visit, you will head for the Costanera Norte (Northern Promenade), where you will see a different view of the river. Lunch is included in this tour.

Sights and Insights
Embark on an exploration of magnificent San Telmo and La Boca, two of Buenos Aires' most beloved neighborhoods. San Telmo is without question one of the trendiest quarters of the city thanks to its cool, bohemian atmosphere and famed antique shops. Plaza Dorrego is the place to be on Sundays to find anything from antiques, memorabilia, second-hand clothes to dusty magazines during its traditional Antiques Fair. Next, set out to experience La Boca, arguably one of the city's most authentic neighborhoods. La Boca's history was largely shaped by immigrants who established themselves within this gritty port-side barrio. A working-class district, La Boca has jealously guarded its identity, of which soccer and tango are major ingredients. What will strike you immediately is the peculiar architecture, especially along Caminito Street, which in 1959 was declared an outdoor museum. It is the work of one of Argentina’s most famous painters and neighborhood philanthropists, Quinquela MartÍn. He gathered neighbors to paint the houses, made out of tin and scrap metal, in bright colors, emulating the early immigrants. The most recognizable icon, though, is La Bombonera (the Chocolate Box), right in the heart of the area and home of the Boca Juniors, the country’s largest soccer club.
This afternoon, you'll meet with a representative to check-in and receive more information prior to your voyage. Prepare for an adventure of a lifetime!

Lose Yourself in Nature
Slide open the floor-to-ceiling doors of your verandah suite to see icebergs sculpted by nature and glacial mountains rising thousands of metres from the ocean. Antarctica is a birdwatcher's paradise, with more than 40 different species, so keep your eyes peeled for wandering albatrosses, which have the largest wingspan of any flying bird, as well as shearwaters, giant petrels and more.
Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, excursions throughout your Expedition Voyage are dependent on the ice and weather conditions. Or you may visit Deception Island as part of your itinerary. With her world-class design and state-of-the-art technology, Scenic Eclipse can sail through a rocky gap into the horseshoe-shaped harbour. The island is also home to a few small scientific outposts and hundreds of thousands of chinstrap penguins.

Guided by the expert Polar Discovery Team, you'll witness colonies up close; hear their mighty calls and watch as they clumsily waddle along and interact with each other.
Whales are another majestic creature you may encounter, whether a minke, a humpback or an orca. Cross an Item off the Bucket List
Be sure to pack your swimming suit because you could be going for a swim today. For many, the polar plunge is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a rite of passage on an expedition to Antarctica. Once throughout your voyage, Scenic Eclipse will stop, and the team will set up the marina ready for the brave people who want to jump into the freezing Antarctic waters.
Excitement will spread through the Discovery Yacht, and you will start hearing the contagious nervous laughter. As you stand on the edge, ready to jump, you will feel the adrenaline rush while you second-guess whether this is a good idea. When you jump, the moment before you hit the water will feel like it goes forever, but soon, an invigorating, exciting, and surprisingly refreshing sensation will take over.
If you choose to skip the polar plunge, make sure you find a good viewing location as you feel the chills of everyone coming out of the water. Join them for a cup of hot chocolate or toast with a glass of whiskey.

A Sight To Behold
Today you will experience the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls from Misiones, the area which borders Brazil. After being picked up by your English-speaking guide, you will be transferred to Iguassu National Park to board a small intra-park train to the first above-water platforms. Marvel at the scenery as you wind your way along this intricate path system to the imposing “Garganta del Diabo” (in Spanish) or Devil's Throat. This awe-inspiring section of the falls funnels 50 percent of the overall flow into a narrow section, letting out a deep roar and a huge amount of mist. While the Devil’s Throat is closer to the Brazilian side, the Argentinians created an expansive and elevated walkway in order to allow visitors to position themselves right above the action! At the end of the tour you will be returned to your hotel.

IGUAZU FALLS
A Sight To Behold
Between 1609 and 1768, one of the most unprecedented colonizing phenomena in the world took place in the border line where Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina are today. The so called Jesuit Province was formed by 30 settlements, which grew until they achieved a technological and social development not expected by the Spanish Crown. Consequently they were expelled from America, leaving trace of their culture, urbanism and architecture. Today the region of the ‘Guarani’ Jesuit Missions offers the visitor the opportunity to learn of exciting history combined with rich nature. This ‘World Heritage’ site, as declared by Unesco, is located 60 km from Posadas City and 237 km from IguazÚ Falls, along National Route 12, in the heart of San Ignacio. Because of their state of conservation, the tourist faces the urban and architectural magnitude built in the XVII century. At the entrance of the Ruins, the ‘Centro de InterpretaciÓn y RecreaciÓn JesuÍtico-guaranÍ’ is found, with its 9 rooms where all history since the arrival of the Spanish settlements is narrated, and the models of Santa Ana, Loreto, Santa MarÍa, Candelaria (Argentina) and JesÚs Tamandare (Paraguay) models can be observed.
