Day 2: Perth

Set off with your private guide to explore Western Australia's largest city, enveloped by the Indian Ocean and iconic Australian Outback. Your first stop is to Kings Park, offering 990 acres of botanical gardens and parkland overlooking the city and Swan River. With an expanse of greenery, native bushland, and unique assortment of flora, the area is considered one of the largest city parks in the world. Enjoy extensive city and river views with lookouts towards the Darling Scarp. Located within the park, the State War Memorial also offers superb views and a vantage point across the river and city. Your next stop is at Cottesloe Beach, one of Perth's best kept secrets. Cottesloe's crystal-clear waters, regular swell, and lively atmosphere make it popular with swimmers, body boarders, and surfers alike. The beachfront's famous pine trees can be seen all the way from Rottnest Island, and offer welcome shade from the sun as well as grassy areas where you can unwind. Enjoy a respite for lunch amid the majestic views of the Indian Ocean.

This evening, dine at one of Perth's newest and best regarded restaurants. Wildflower showcases contemporary cuisine with highly seasonal menus that align with the aboriginal Australian traditional calendar.

Day 3: Perth

After a transfer from your hotel with your private guide and driver, you’ll board a ferry bound for Rottnest Island and begin your journey of discovery to one of Western Australia’s most popular islands. Here you’ll have the option to enjoy a relaxing ride on the Island Explorer bus, jumping on and off at your favourite beaches, bay and attractions. For those wanting more activity, you may prefer to hire bikes and ride around the island. Today, you will be shown where gaolers and ship pilots lived and worked and why Rottnest became an Aboriginal 'open prison' in 1839. Enjoy a short break at Bathurst lighthouse and learn about the role that this lighthouse played in navigating ships between 1848 and 1903. Lunch today is located on the water’s edge, where you’ll admire the sweeping views across the bay and back to the mainland. After lunch you’ll undertake the world famous “Quokka walk”, and hopefully uncover Rottnest Island's famous marsupial, the ever-curious quokka. Learn about the quokka’s natural habitats as well as some interesting facts about this keenly photogenic animal. The rest of the afternoon will be spent among the islands Museums, and World War II relics, before you board the ferry back to Perth.

Day 5: Exmouth

Experience the unparalleled beauty of the ocean off the coast of Western Australia on a full-day marine adventure. The location of today’s dive will depend on the prevailing weather conditions and optimal visibility; and your experienced guide will pick between the Muiron Islands and the Ningaloo Reef as the site of your experience. Surrounded by an abundance of coral gardens, rocky ledges and intriguing dive sites, the Muiron Islands are located about 10 nautical miles north east of Exmouth. Keep your eyes peeled during the one-hour trip across to the islands and look out for ospreys, shearwaters, turtles, manta rays, dolphins, dugongs, and during their migration, the mighty humpback whales. Swim-throughs and ledges provide plenty of spots perfect to search for shrimp, nudibranch, eel, juvenile angelfish and other timid creatures. In mid-water and against the reefs look for friendly potato cod, large rankin cod, turtles, nurse sharks, soft coral gardens, anemones, clams and thousands of darting, colorful reef fish. The diving sites around the Ningaloo outer reef area are just as magical with opportune sightings of mantas, turtles and an abundance of other marine species. Continue your experience as you venture out to look for mantas from the deck of a big stable boat. In the whale season you might also be able to spot humpback whales. Your tour concludes with a transfer back to your accommodation in Exmouth.

A spotter plane is used to locate the whale sharks which eliminates the need to use feed in order to attract them. Then it’s time for one of the greatest adventures of your lifetime! Jump into the refreshing turquoise sea and snorkel alongside these beautiful, docile giants. Back on board, a marine biologist will teach you all about this mesmerizing species and the ecology of the reef. Throughout your experience you are also likely to spot such marine favorites as manta rays, humpbacks, dugongs, and dolphins. Upon the conclusion of the tour you will be transported back to your accommodation.

  • Mona Y — June 14, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Rehana was wonderful. Her recommendations were all top notch and made me realize how well she knew Australia. Everything ran like clockwork and that allowed us to make the most of what was actually a short time in Australia. She was also very patient with my many questions and gave me alternatives when I asked. It is the third time that we've used Kensington Tours and I can't imagine using anyone else. We've never been disappointed.

  • Curtis L — March 21, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Kerry Brown was an exceptional travel consultant throughout the entire planning phase as well as a responsive resource as we encountered a few challenges while travelling. Her personal interest in our comfort, convenience, and pleasure made our trip an unforgettable experience. We will definitely consider using Kensington for international travel.

  • Ellen M — February 12, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Wonderful trip, tailored to our exact needs and wishes, quality hotels, tours, experiences. Very satisfied, the best part of our trip was through Kensington.

  • Holly T — April 17, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Samantha was amazing and the trip was wonderful and enchanting! Guides were amazing and super knowledgeable. Special shout out to Kenn Holmes (Brisbane) who not only provided an amazing tour of the Australian Zoo but went above and beyond to look for medical care for me for an ear infection during our day together. He was amazing!

  • Susan S — June 05, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

Our trip to New Zealand was a special occasion in that I was celebrating my 70th birthday. Our itinerary was jam-packed as we were visiting both the North and South Islands, that included 6 cities and 4 national parks. Kensington Tours truly did an outstanding job arranging for our transportation, hotels and tour guides. They far exceeded my expectations.

  • Jennifer B — February 19, 2019 — Australia & Pacific

We felt like rock stars on this trip! Everything was so well arranged and of high quality. The guides were all excellent and even the drivers to and from the airports provided a mini-tour during the transport. Many thanks for Jennifer May for accommodating our preferences of activities and hotels and making this all possible.

  • Jennifer U. — September 30, 2018 — Australia & Pacific

We had run into a snag on our trip. When we could not resolve this on our own we reached out to the after-hours contact at Kensington and between her and our original trip organizer, the issue was resolved for us promptly. It let us enjoy the rest of our trip without the stress of having to deal with the issue on our own. Peace of mind is priceless.

  • Ronald J. — August 13, 2018 — Australia & Pacific

Ashwarya, my Destination Expert, was on top of everything and answered all my questions.

  • Joshua J. — July 24, 2018 — Australia & Pacific

I am always thrilled with Kensington and their experts.

  • Emily D. — June 22, 2018 — Australia & Pacific
