Tastes and Traditions
Whether it’s food on the go for busy executives or a post-evening snack after dancing and merriment, Colombian street food is well worth exploring. This experience requires a healthy appetite and an open mind to sample some of the culinary urban delights on offer. Medellin has a fascinating and complex history with neighborhoods, streets, and plazas that chronicle its past, present, and future. Walking its bustling thoroughfares and local markets while sampling the tempting treats is a splendid way to while away a few hours and get a deeper understanding of this fascinating melting pot of a city. The locals of Medellin, the Paisas, are staunch guardians of their culture and traditions, but Medellin is also a fast-paced and ever-evolving metropolis. This has led to a street food scene that is rooted in tradition but frequently altered with an innovative and modern twist. The options are varied, but some traditional staples are a must: Empanadas are the cornerstone of Colombian street food, a maize pastry-filled snack. Next, buÑuelos, a sweet Colombian doughnut best-served piping hot, or patacones made from mashed plantain and with a multitude of delicious toppings. Then maybe chicharron, the calorie-loaded but mouth-watering crispy deep-fried pork belly, later offset by fresh tropical fruits and tasty juices. There will be time to learn how each snack is made using what ingredients, as well as a rundown on who eats them and when!
With a wide range of outstanding restaurants offering top-notch dining experiences, no trip to Medellin is complete without a night of fine fare. Tonight, reservations will be made in advance at the restaurant of your choice, and round-trip transportation in a private vehicle will also be provided. Please note: Your meal is not included and will be paid for on-site. Reservations are confirmed at the time of booking and are subject to availability.

Sofitel Legend Santa Clara
Originally built as a monastery in 1621, the Sofitel Santa Clara Hotel is a reference point in the heart of Cartagena de Indias, where its walls, which acted as a shield in ancient times, combine with colonial balconies and republican structures to evoke the splendor of days gone by.
